I plan on installing Linux and linux-lts kernels. Do i need to install both the corresponding Nvidia drivers, or do i need to install the dkms one to use with both?
I plan to use the main kernel, and just have the lts one for if something breaks like it did once. The lts kernel came in handy when there was some AMD bug business not long ago. But then i used mesa and didn't care about drivers lol.
The wiki says dkms is for the zen kernel and others which i don't plan on using, but i also saw online people say to install dkms if you plan on using multiple kernels...
Can someone shed some light on this and explain? Which driver is for use with both linux and linux-lts?
I use Arch with the latest linux kernel + nvidia driver.
I want to try a linux-zen kernel and I need to install dkms and nvidia-dkms packages.
Can I easily switch between kernels? Should I delete nvidia-dkms if I use linux (delete nvidia if I use linux-zen respectively)?
I am planning on getting a laptop with an Nvidia laptop and installing Arch on it, but I'm not sure which driver is better. Can someone tell me please, thx.
Also, I read the Arch wiki and they say the dkms driver is best for custom kernels, but is it okay for regular kernels as well?
