Hello, I've been trying to download some old videos for hobbyistic video-editing. When I try to go for the 'mp4' option, the video player appears on my screen but doesn't end up playing, leaving me unable to download the video. I have used the torrent option, but it's extremely slow and it will take me a day at least before I have downloaded the video.
Is there any more efficient way that I can download videos from the archive? Thanks.

The ia command line client is useful. First get a list of the available formats for a particular identifier: ia metadata formats abc200109110831-0912 In that example the best format might be '512Kb MPEG4'. Download the MP4: ia download --search=abc200109110831-0912 --format="512Kb MPEG4" -v --no-directories Note: The 'identifier' is the last part of the archive.org URL. The format type is case sensitive. Different uploads may have different format types available. Other video formats you might come across are "h.264", "MPEG2" If you don't specify a format type the ia client will download every file available for the identifier. That will include all of the derived formats so you'll end up with a bunch of files you probably don't want and it will be waste of bandwidth. Wildcards are supported so to download all of the ABC footage from 911: ia download --search=abc20010911* --format="512Kb MPEG4" -v --no-directories More on reddit.com
