r/arduino on Reddit: Where to get the PoE module for the Ethernet shield
July 3, 2024 -

Hello reddit,

recently I've been setting up some arduinos around my cottage and there are a few places where I'd want an arduino but it would be a pain to run power and communications, so I went through my arduino bin and found one of those old arduino ethernet boards. Not a shield mind you, the board with ethernet. This one is with the PoE module already installed and when I tested it with my camera switch, it worked, so I went with that.

Unfortunately I only have one of these, so I went and ordered the now new system with the ethernet shield.
Ofcourse I didnt read the fine print that the PoE module is not included by default, and I cant find the module anywhere on the internet.

Where could I get it? I can solder it in, I have all the tools for that, I just need to find the module for purchase. Ideally somewhere in the EU so I dont have to go through an insane customs process, but at this point, I'll take even china.

Thanks!
