Hi there- Shokz here! Both the OpenRun Pro 2 and the OpenRun Pro have an IP rating of 55, meaning they are resistant to water splashes and sweat, but are not fully waterproof and should not be submerged in water. The OpenSwim and OpenSwim Pro are the only headphones that are fully waterproof and can be submerged in water. Please reach out to our Customer Happiness Team if you have any other questions. Thanks! Shokz OpenRun Pro vs OpenSwim Pro
Hi - in general I had the opportunity to compare run pro with swim pro. It was not at the same time (first I had run pro, then two days later swim pro), but I did not feel, any significant difference. In my opinion it is the same level. More on reddit.com

Shokz OpenRUN for swimming?
If you take your OpenRUN headphones in the pool they will both fall off your ears and become water damaged and never work again. There is also the Bluetooth issue as you mentioned. The openswin is an old school mp3 player that stores the music on device to get around this problem. You should try these as running headphones, they are very good 👍🏻 safer too More on reddit.com

CAN OTHERS HEAR YOUR MUSIC?
No, OpenRun sends vibrations to your inner ear through bone conduction technology. While it’s an alternative to traditional air conduction technology, leaving your eardrums open to your surroundings, it still provides a private listening experience.

r/Runners on Reddit: Shockz Openrun Pro in the rain
June 2, 2024 -

Last Sunday I ran a 10 k race with the Shocks Openrun Pro. The earphones worked fine during the race and afterwards too.

However, When I tried charging those it keeps making a beep sound and vibrates. I dried those charging ports and points keeping it next to a fan. Also rubbed those with dry cloth.

I only had it for a 2 months so beyond the return period at Bestbuy but raised a claim with Shockz.

It is highly disappointing and now I don't have a backup. Is there anyone with similar experience? How did you get yours' to work?

The OpenRun Pro are very lightweight and comfortable, even for long runs, and their light titanium construction means they never bounce as you move. They have a water resistance rating of IP55, which means they'll be fine when you're sweating hard or running in the rain, but aren't suitable for swimming. For that, you'll want a set of waterproof headphones like the Shokz ... Easily the best bass of any bone conduction headset we've tested

The Shokz OpenRun Pro 2 Conducts Sound Through Both the Air and Your Face Bones
August 31, 2024 - Waterproof rating not as strong as cheaper OpenRun iterations. Back when headphone brand Shokz was known as Aftershokz, and it first started to send audio vibrations down our cheekbones, brands like Bose and Huawei weren't really making workout headphones. Now they've caught up, but despite plenty of competition, Shokz remains the dominant force in running headphones. The OpenRun Pro 2 are the company's most advanced open-ear headphones ever, and they really do make the miles pass quicker.

Shokz OpenRun vs. OpenRun Pro - Bone-Conduction Headphones
September 5, 2024 - Some of that stems from the ingress protection of the headphones. OpenRun is the most protective, with an IP67 rating. That means no dust can get inside and you could submerge the headphones in 1 meter of water for up to 30 minutes.

Shokz OpenRun Pro review and comparison – Heart Runner Girl
February 28, 2022 - I’m assuming that’s because the OpenRun Pro has some openings on the transducers, presumably to help with the bass. It can still take some rain and sweat, but the OpenRun can really take the pouring rain (although those aren’t entirely waterproof either since you can’t swim with them, if you want to do that you should look at the OpenSwim).
