welcome to ARGs! it can definitely be difficult to dive into, and a lot of information may be different depending on who you ask. Basically, my take is, an ARG is a story that takes place in real time through different mediums (videos, websites, social media, emails, dead drops) and sometimes, your interaction with the mediums makes the story go a different direction than originally planned. A choose your own adventure type of thing. Sometimes it’s blatant and sometimes it’s not lol. It depends on what you are trying to include in the ARG. Sometimes you need to mod it, sometimes a mod does it for you, sometimes you can use command blocks. There are numerous tutorials on creating texture packs, mods, and even your own ciphers. I'd recommend watching all the ARG's you can find and try to replicate the interesting effects that you find on your own. You not only learn how to do one specific thing but you can tweak it to your own liking later. Remember that you also need to learn how to write. For actors, I'd use BBS . It's hard to find people willing to make ARG's and it's much better to do it yourself even if it takes a little bit longer, because the quality will be better. Sound design is more tricky. Good sound design elevates a good ARG to a great ARG. Tutorials are very important for this purpose. There's a lot of things to learn but reiterative hands-on experience and self-critique will make you a much better "ARG maker" than most people in the playing field. More on reddit.com
