Looking for a good pair of low rise baggy jeans!! I am 5’8, 135 pounds and I find a lot of jeans are too short (I prefer a longer inseam) or they aren’t actually low rise (many denim forum jeans). I like the Levi’s low loose but I wish they were a bit longer and a bit baggier. Any suggestions??? At aritzia or elsewhere. Thanks :)
I love the 90s Iggy Lo-Rise Baggy jean. I also know that in the past, rather than "reinventing the wheel" by spending large amounts of time and money engineering their own cuts of jeans, Aritzia has simply knocked-off popular vintage denim styles. For example, their Sunday Best Jupiter jean is an exact knock-off of a pair of 90s vintage Calvin Kleins. I know this because I thrift shop *a lot* (every week) and a few months ago I came across a donated pair of Jupiter jeans and a pair of vintage CK jeans in the same size during the same visit at Value Village. I liked them both and was comparing, and when I held them against each other, I was shocked to realize that were *exactly* the same in every proportion. I tell you, they were EXACT exact. At that point I realized that Aritzia likely does this for a number of their jeans -- finding flattering vintage cuts, deconstructing them, and using them to draft a pattern and recreate that cut.
On that note, I am thinking that the Iggy Lo-Rise might be a knockoff of another vintage model.
I know I might be going out on a limb here, but I was wondering -- does anyone have any inkling or opinions of what model that might be? I'm asking because if I can get any good leads, I'd prefer to try to locate the vintage model rather than buy new (possibly less expensive, better quality -- I will say that the denim on the Jupiter jeans was not as great as the CK jeans). I'm wondering if they might be based on vintage Levi's or Calvin Klein.
Thank you for any insight you can provide!!
And if you have any opinions on the fit or material of the Iggy jeans themselves, I'd love to hear them. Because if I can't figure this out, I might buy them new. Thank you thank you (pray hands emoji).
