Saving the file was as easy as creating a new Buffer with the Uint8Array object :

// chunk is the Uint8Array object
fs.appendFile(path, Buffer.from(chunk), function (err) {
    if (err) {
      fut.throw(err);
    } else {
      fut.return(chunk.length);
    }
});

FileReader: readAsArrayBuffer() method - Web APIs | MDN
July 26, 2024 - The readAsArrayBuffer() method of the FileReader interface is used to start reading the contents of a specified Blob or File. When the read operation is finished, the readyState property becomes DONE, and the loadend event is triggered. At that time, the result property contains an ArrayBuffer ...

File to ArrayBuffer with attributes, ArrayBuffer to File with attributes
Why encode the file size? The buffer size already tells how long the file is. Also this seems somewhat convoluted. Why not just do this instead? File.prototype.serialize = async function () { return { name: this.name, type: this.type, lmod: this.lastModified, data: await this.arrayBuffer() }; }; File.deserialize = function (data) { return new File([data.data], data.name, { type: data.type, lastModified: data.lmod }); }; and transfer that instead? EDIT: Serializing a file into a buffer is generally not a good idea unless you know what you do, because if the user selects a large file it comes with a huge memory penalty. It's usually better to split it into chunks using the .slice() method. This also makes implementing progress reporting easier More on reddit.com

File to ArrayBuffer with attributes, ArrayBuffer to File with attributes
Synopsis The arrayBuffer() algorithm steps does not include the File attributes size , name , type , lastModified attributes when converting to File to and ArrayBuffer. We can encode the size, name, type, and lastModified attributes of the File object in an ArrayBuffer with the underlying File data using Uint32Array to store the length of each attribute for the ability to extract those attributes when recreating a File object from an ArrayBuffer. Creating an ArrayBuffer and sending it as a file (attachment) - OSS Support - Grafana Labs Community Forums
July 14, 2021 - Hello there, hope you are doing well 🙂 This time I would like to ask (after few hours of research), is there a way to initialize ArrayBuffer object which weights for like 5Kb and send it as attachment(simply put - file) in my POST request? So far I have: let buffer = new ArrayBuffer(5000) let attach = http.file(buffer, 'attach'+randomIntBetween(0,1000000)+'.dat', 'multipart/form-data') let res = http.post(`https://${__ENV.host}/upload`, attach); check(r...

Allow ArrayBuffer as argument to writeFile and friends · Issue #42228 · nodejs/node
March 6, 2022 - (The fact this isn't possible is something I forget pretty much everytime I go to write an ArrayBuffer). I propose allowing fs.promises.writeFile("./some-file", someArrayBuffer) to work when someArrayBuffer is an ArrayBuffer.

ArrayBuffer - JavaScript - MDN Web Docs
You cannot directly manipulate the contents of an ArrayBuffer; instead, you create one of the typed array objects or a DataView object which represents the buffer in a specific format, and use that to read and write the contents of the buffer. The ArrayBuffer() constructor creates a new ArrayBuffer of the given length in bytes. You can also get an array buffer from existing data, for example, from a Base64 string or from a local file.
