The problem with this ASCII art is the use of "|" special character. So no, removing echo off won't help. It's necessary to avoid seeing echo command before each line of your ASCII art. Escaping all pipes will. All you need to do is replace any appearance of: | with ^| and you are good to go.

Just tested and it went fine. Previously it was erroring out each time you had: echo ....|... because it would read: echo .... and pipe it to ... so latter was not found command - pause was never run and whole ASCII was not displayed.

how can i use ascii art in cmd?
The problem is that the art you copied is using non-ASCII symbols. Even the blank spaces are actually "U+2800 BRAILLE PATTERN BLANK". This is not going to show up well in CMD. First step to get it at least running is to add an actual blank space after each 'echo' and then add a double quote " and then at the end of each line add another double quote ". For example like this: echo "⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⢀⡞⠀⣾⡟⣈⠆⠤⡉⠔⡈⢆⡑⠌⣂⠱⣈⠘⡄⢣⠰⡱⢨⠖⣭⢚⡴⣩⢿⣷⣿⢏⢧⡙⢧⡚⣅⢚⢦⠘⡌⢡⠂⡅⠒⠤⡘⢠⢉⡐⢢⠁⢆⠩⠼⣿⡄⢘⡀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀" It will run, but will show up as gibberish. You might be able to fix it my messing with codepages - advanced stuff and most likely will not work. Best solution is to convert this into ascii. Look for some tools online. More on reddit.com

If anyone is looking for a handy online ASCII Text Generator - I have been using TAAG for a while - lots of fonts and super easy to add to any batch file. Just thought I would share.
Here is hybrid code batch and PowerShell to get clipboard from the ASCII Text generator and create a new batch file and escape special characters. <# : batch script Don't Delete This Line. Ne supprimez pas cette ligne. @rem # La ligne précédente ne fait rien dans Batch, mais commence un bloc de commentaire multiligne dans PowerShell. Cela permet à un seul script d'être exécuté par les deux interpréteurs. @rem # The previous line does nothing in Batch, but begins a multiline comment block in PowerShell. This allows a single script to be executed by both interpreters. @echo off Title Get ClipBoard And Replace Special Characters for ASCII ART to copy into a batch file setlocal cd "%~dp0" Color 0B & echo( echo @echo off ^& Title Copying ART ASCII From ClipBoard to a batch file ^& Color 0A>Code_ART_ASCII.bat Echo( Please Wait a while ... Executing the Powershell command ... Powershell -executionpolicy remotesigned -Command "Invoke-Expression $([System.IO.File]::ReadAllText('%~f0'))" echo pause>>Code_ART_ASCII.bat EndLocal goto:eof #> # here write your powershell commands... (Get-Clipboard) -replace '([\^&<>\|\(\)!])', '^$1' -replace "%", "%%" -replace '^', "echo/ " | Out-File Code_ART_ASCII.bat -Append -Encoding ASCII More on reddit.com

I wasn't able to get the Star Wars one to work but if you run this command and then type "starwars" you'll get the movie in ascii Command: ssh -p 2222 guest@telehack.com then type: starwars (once you finish getting in ofc)

Open your terminal with CTRL+ALT+T and type as

nano ~/.bashrc

There type as

echo " Hi Zignd" then close and save it.

then type this command to reload bashrc .

source ~/.bashrc

You will what you want.

for example :I made my self.

echo "| |_| | |_) | |_| | | | | |_| |_| |"
echo " \__,_|_.__/ \__,_|_| |_|\__|\__,_|"

The secret to these image like characters is to use an image converter to ASCII characters. There are lots of free tools in the wild like toilet or figlet but I personally use jp2a.

You can also use this site for generating text to ASCII instead of image to ASCII.

Some time ago I wrote a program called FIGBat.bat that may use the fonts created for FIGlet program. For example, the following Batch file:

@echo off
cls
call figbat /f Banner My program
call figbat /f Doom use standard
call figbat /f Epic FigLet
call figbat /f Isometric1 FONTS
echo/
echo ______________________________________________________________________
echo/
call figbat /f Script Antonio

Create this output:
