Usually ads on Reddit have the comments locked. Maybe 1% of the time, the comments are open, and usually filled with weird copy pasta and lewd ASCII art comments. Almost nothing about the ad itself. Bots? Fake engagement? Trolling?

Some people here seem to think spamming the chat is toxic, and prevents good discussion from being had in twitch chat. Question to these people: have you ever read the conversations people have in twitch chat? They're terrible - in the rare case they're not arguments, offensive or straight up misinformation they're just dull. Spamming a wall of relevant copypastas as one, on the other hand, gives a sense of community togertherness that I have never experienced outside of twitch. As an aside, though I do agree that there are good/funny/relevant copypastas and bad/unfunny/irrelevant copypastas. Additionally, the channels I watch are generally fairly large (>3000 viewers) - I can imagine in smaller channels having meaningful discussion is possible.
