I’m shopping for my elderly parents, so I’m just now starting my research.
Today, I drove around Northwest Arkansas for over 4 hours looking at various lift recliners. I visited Hanks Home Furnishings, Ashley, LaZBoy, Sam’s Furniture, and Furniture Row.
What I found is most reasonably-priced ($800-$1200) lift recliners appear to all be made by the same OEM and rebranded to whatever the local flavor is at that particular store. I wasn’t too impressed with the mechanicals of the chairs, nor the fabric quality, nor the speed of lifting/lowering. I found that Flexsteel (sold at Sam’s Furniture) was probably built the best, but carried a $2100 price tag for their “Zecliner Model 2”. It was also meant for a rather large person, which neither of my parents are. LayZBoy chairs are just ridiculously expensive, but seem to be built well (and rather locally).
But I quit browsing without making a decision. And that’s where I need suggestions. I’m hoping to find a $1000-$1500 lift recliner that’s built with decent quality. No leathers. Cloth or suede are fine.
Any help suggesting brands/models is greatly appreciated.
