Anyways, where would you recommend buying a sleeper sofa that’s decently made?
I want to warn people about this store. This place is a scam. Here are just a few of the complaints I have: They are horrible. I am trying to save you from the pain and anguish that comes from buying furniture from this place. I wish someone had warned us earlier. The customer service is non-existent. If there is a mistake on your furniture order, and trust me they will sometimes deliver the wrong furniture to your house, it will take them months and months to fix the issue. You can try to escalate it to hire ups but that will get you nowhere because they will ignore your emails and phone calls. Their delivery drivers never come on time or they come earlier or later than expected and then they will make you reschedule to have it be delivered at another date. Sometimes the delivery drivers don't show up at all. That happened to us three times so far. I will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau, my local consumer protection office, and The Federal Trade Commission. We've waited months and months for a single chair to be delivered. It has yet to show up. They will also claim that they can't find any of your paperwork. Another fun thing that they try to do is put you in the middle between the actual store location employees and the escalation department with both of them saying that they can't do anything to help you or that once you reached escalation you cannot go any further up in management from there to complain about anything or find a resolution to your issue. So this really leaves you stuck with no solution. They'll do this to you for a while just to stall time hoping that you eventually just give up. They keep you on hold forever if you're calling about a problem, they don't return calls and they don't respond to any of your emails. It's almost like they get some kind of sick enjoyment out of just making everything harder for you. Please do not shop here. This has been a never ending nightmare for us.
This has been the single worst customer service experience I have ever had. We purchased a $2,350 sectional from this store, and from there, it’s been nothing but problems. The initial delivery was fine, but when we decided to change the layout from Left Arm Facing (LAF) to Right Arm Facing (RAF), the nightmare began.
First, the team from Diverse Logistics & Distribution, Inc. scheduled to pick up the sectional was supposed to arrive between 3–7 PM. They showed up at 10:30 PM, with no tools, so I had to provide my own! While moving the sectional, they cracked my window—a fact I only noticed days later since it was a little stress crack. When I reported it, Ashley’s outright refused to take responsibility, saying it was “too late” to file a claim.
By the third delivery attempt, it got even worse. The crew insisted the sectional wouldn’t fit through our door, despite the fact it had already been inside! The sectional is 28 inches, and our door is 31.5 inches. But did they listen? No. They spoke no English, and we had to communicate through Google Translate. After arguing, they finally tried but forced it through, tearing the fabric, and then turned around and blamed us, saying it was “undeliverable.”
We have been patient long enough and are sick of being treated horribly. Every time we call, they tell us it’s being “escalated” or that “someone will call us back.” No one ever calls. We just get passed off from one person to the next, with the same empty promises and zero accountability.
Months later, we still don’t have the sectional we paid for, my window is still broken, and we’re stuck with Ashley’s pathetic excuse for customer service. Do yourself a favor and avoid Ashley’s like the plague. This company has no respect for their customers and does not deserve anyone’s business.
Months and months later, I finally got my money back—but my window never got fixed. Ashley’s used Diverse Logistics & Distribution, Inc. as their delivery company, and let me tell you, they are absolutely trash. They broke my window, blamed me for it, and outright refused to take responsibility. If you ever see this company handling your delivery, run away and refuse the delivery on the spot!
I ended up purchasing a sectional from Jordan’s Furniture instead, and the difference was night and day. Jordan’s was amazing at every step—professional, communicative, and actually cared about customer service.
Long story short, tell everyone you know to NEVER, EVER buy anything from Ashley’s. This company has zero accountability, zero respect for their customers, and does not deserve anyone’s business. Avoid them at all costs!
EDIT:
Looks like I missed the last part where on the 4th delivery, the team from Ashleys own crop delivered the sectional and it was smooth no problem at all. Once we opened the package it was the ripped sectional that 3rd team caused. That was the last straw where I asked for my money back.
