Looking for wedding guest dress suggestions
I found a great Diane von Furstenberg maxi on the Outnet for a recent wedding. Bright, lovely pattern and incredibly comfortable. I'm in my 60s and there was nothing matronly or MOB about it. Good luck. More on reddit.com
Wedding dresses from ASOS?
I am in the US, and I just ordered 4 from ASOS to try on! Do you have any specific styles in mind? If we ordered any of the same, I’m happy to share some of my photos, and specific fit details if you’re interested! Here are 3 I tried (the other one is now discontinued.) dress 1 dress 2 dress 3 The dresses were shipped in garment bags inside of large boxes, so they were well protected. I found the materials to be good quality. I didn’t order any styles that were particularly tight on the lower half so I didn’t notice any issue with them being see through. The issue I had was that, using their “fit assistant,” it suggested I would fit in a size 8 or 10, and when I tried on the 8’s I ordered, they were too big. That might be a me problem, or you might want to consider ordering a size down as well just to check fit. I returned all 4 today, they are en route to ASOS, but it was easy to request a return and print the prepaid labels. YMMV in Canada. More on reddit.com
Does anyone have experience with wedding dresses from ASOS?
I ordered two of these for my bridesmaids. https://www.asos.com/au/maya/maya-bridesmaid-sleeveless-midaxi-tulle-dress-with-tonal-delicate-sequin-overlay-in-navy/prd/24035662?colourwayid=60533678&cid=15156 I got them on sale, and with a new user discount code! They arrived quickly (I think they shipped from the UK). I only had two issues... Loose stitching at the top of the strap on one (easily fixed at home) Some of the sequins came on (again an easy fix at home) Otherwise the dresses were close to measurements and fit really well. I didn't want to spend much on a wedding dress either and ended up ordering from White Runway https://whiterunway.com.au/ as I could try everything on in their Sydney showroom. I ended up spending around $700 including 2 lots of alterations as I had to postpone by a year. More on reddit.com
where are you all shopping for wedding guest dresses?
Honestly, the number of times i dont think of macys first then get last minute guest dress for reasonable prices there is wild. If you're US based. I've done well at tj maxx and marshalls. Though that can be area dependent. Otherwise lulus, nordstrom, Karen millen ((though a bit more expensive on the expensive) hello molly, asos, oh polly, abercrombie is a good option, sometimes you can get lucky on revolve- they have some good options under $200 but def on the trendier side I'll try and think of more places. But I'd start with macys, abercrombie, lulus and nordstrom More on reddit.com

I have a wedding to attend in September at a winery in California. I'm in my 40's, size 14/16. I prefer long dresses. Everything I see looks like a MOB dress, bridesmaids dress or a sofa pattern. I'm started to get very frustrated. I would love some suggestions on dresses and what won't make me look so matronly. Thank you!

ARRANGE Wedding-Guest Dresses| ASOS
June 17, 2025 - If your wedding invite doesn’t fit into any of the categories above (or you’re just unsure what to wear) this ARRANGE piece is a great failsafe. The bandeau sweetheart neckline feels classic and elevated, while a bold pink shade and structured trapeze shape bring a modern twist. The textured fabric also make this a great dress for summertime celebrations.

Does anyone have experience ordering a wedding dress from ASOS? If so, how was the quality? (Ie: was it see through, was the material nice, how was the fit, did it look cheap, was it worth it?) and overall how was your ordering experience? (I will be ordering from Canada!)
Thanks! ❤️

I ordered a dress from ASOS because it was 1. Affordable; 2. Came in Tall; and 3. Had all the elements I was searching for. It was technically a prom dress but honestly what’s the difference lol they’re all formal gowns. I love my dress. To the few people who’ve seen it in person, they cannot tell it was $100. I had a tailor take it in a smidge and she fixed some of the beading for me - that’s probably my only complaint. I also took invisible thread and secured the beading myself, just in case. The dress was actually stolen from my mailbox and I was so sad, but ASOS was so easy to work with. They refunded me and I was able to re-purchase the dress for the same price. I’m in the US tho so I can’t speak to how a Canadian process may go. Here’s the dress from ASOS website Here is me in the dress (the photo is a bit dark and the light makes it more yellow but it’s the only photo I have right now). It is more blush than their website shows, and honestly I’ve noticed that with several of their clothes, so that might be something to be wary of if you’re going for off-white. It may end up being more yellow or blush than you anticipate.
