Hi, recently I found an old Asrock B75 Pro3 motherboard and decided to clean it good and test it but I keep getting 5 beeps at startup that should indicate a cpu error. That's strange because I'm sure cpu, ram and psu are ok (already tested on another platform). Things I' ve already tried:
- Checked all cables connectors, using VGA video output with integrated gpu
- Boot without ram gives 3 long beeps (should be correct)
- Used only 1 stick of ram and checked every slot
- Removed cpu and checked for bent pins but everything is fine
- Reset CMOS using jumper procedure and removed battery
Cpu fan spins but i keep getting 5 beeps. Is there something else I can try before throwing it away ? Maybe replace the bios chip in case it is corrupted/damaged, but honestly that's the last resort and it's not a guaranteed fix.
[Edit] Solved: Apparently it was a corrupted bios issue. I bought a CH341a usb bios flasher and flashed the bios chip with the latest version and that fixed the problem.
My PC actually worked for a long time, and started to fuck me about 2 days ago, while playing cs, i just lose display output, monitor works fine, pc works as well cuz i hear people talking, but i had to restart pc cuz picture didn't come back and install drivers all over, and today it wouldn't even boot properly, both keyboard and mouse start to blink, fans start working but no display and thus giving 5 beeps. I tried a lot of things like changing RAM slots, leaving only 1 ram stick, changing CPU pasta, checking for bent CPU pins, trying other VGA cable, maybe even something else but can't remember rn. Anyways I'm asking for help if someone
Specs: MB - Asrock B550M pro4 CPU - Ryzen 3 3100 GPU - AMD Radeon RX 570 XFX 8GB PSU - Seasonic S12III 650W RAM - 2 x 8GB 3200MHz
Thanks in advance.
Put my parts together for the first time tonight. Power it on and all the fans and lights come on, but no video. Shortly after the speaker inside emits 5 short beeps. Google tells me that's a cpu problem.
AMD Ryzen 5 3600 cpu in an Asrock b450 pro 4 motherboard.
I've shuffled around the ram sticks/slots to no avail. I've also pulled out the cpu to check the pins (all OK) and reseated the cpu. No dice. Still 5 beeps.
So currently I'm sitting with a system that has the cpu and 2 sticks of ram. Graphics card is out (radeon 5700 xt) so I don't expect video out, but I would like to hear that single beep that means all clear :(
I've exhausted my troubleshooting capabilities. Help me r/buildapc, you're my only hope!

Just built a new pc and had 5 beeps with no post. Realised some of the pins were bent and I went to fix it as best I could. I reassembled it back and still no post but no beeps for the first time turning on. I turned the power switch off and tried again and the 5 beeps came back. Is it due to the bent pins? What can I do next? Any advice will be appreciated!
So I built a headless server with this board and naturally I won't use a display monitor with it. It's a Debian Linux box that is managed through remote SSH. Everytime it boots up, it gives out 5 short beeps which is annoying. FWIW, I have an Asus Maximus X Hero board that does the same when I don't turn on its monitor before the POST process. Is this a modern thing with boards? Is there a way to disable this alert?
Anyone?
unplug the speaker? looking at the board in question i don't really see one onboard, does your case have one? looking in the manual https://download.asrock.com/Manual/H570M-ITXac.pdf on page 7 the chassis speaker header is #14, and is not populated my default.
or look in the bios for a post code beep setting.
i've never had an asrock board beep before.
worst case scenario, buy a dummy display plug.
Hi folks! I'm in the process of building a new PC, and I set up my core components outside my case for the first time to see whether it POSTs. Lo and behold, it won't. Since there's no error code screen on the mobo, I also installed a chassis speaker, and it's giving me 5 beeps after startup. I get the same beeps whether my GPU is installed or not, and there's no video output through the HDMI on the board nor through that on the GPU. My mobo is running bios it was shipped with, which the sticker indicates is 1.07.
My components are:
ASRock B650E PG-ITX
Ryzen 9 7900
Corsair CMT32GX5M2D6000Z36 RAM
WB Black SN850X
Corsair SF750 PSU
Asus RTX 4070 Dual
I've tried clearing the CMOS (using a screwdriver to short the pins), reseating all power cables and checking that they're in their correct slots, booting with and without the GPU, and booting with a single stick of RAM in different slots.
Strictly speaking, my RAM is not on the QVL list, but as there are no Corsair sticks certified for EXPO on that list, I checked with ASRock support whether I should get the XMP sticks that are in fact listed or their exact EXPO equivalent. Support told me to get the EXPO sticks and sent me a link on Amazon, so I went ahead and got that, which is what this is.
Unfortunately, I don't have a bunch of other CPUs or other components laying around to experiment with. What are my next steps here? Would much appreciate any advice!
My setup looks like this at the moment: https://imgur.io/EQsIGqn?r & https://imgur.io/aQlWJH0?r
Just built my first Gaming PC, and I’m in the process of testing it. Now, I’m running into issues when booting it up: I hear 5 quick beeps while a red light flashes for a few seconds, and my monitor shows no display. From what I’ve read on Google, and watched on YouTube, the 5 quick beeps indicate a GPU error.
But I’m puzzled: my GPU properly clicked into its dock, it’s been screwed tightly in place, hooked up to the power source, the GPU fans are working, and the HDMI & Display Port are evidently working because the monitor is on, yet there’s no display due to the aforementioned 5 error beeps.
Does anyone know what else could be wrong, and what should I do?
