it sounds like a voltage or power issue. see if any of your power cables feeding the motherboard is loose. its an old board so maybe its just a matter of replacing the CMOS battery. Answer from georgeclintonfan on reddit.com

r/buildapc on Reddit: ASRock Z77 Extreme4 Suddenly failing to boot with a d0 error
June 1, 2018 -

Hi all, I've had my computer for several years now. About a month ago I started having issues. Upon rebooting, the computer wouldn't post and I would get 6 beeps on the motherboard. Dr. debug gives me a 4F code followed by d0. D0 is listed as CPU initialisation error in the manual. After giving it some rest and coming back, the computer turned on. I've had no issues when the computer is on, but every time I restart, I'd have the issue again. Today I had to restart and I can't get it to come back at all. Same errors as before.

I've taken it all apart and disconnected everything except the CPU and one stick of ram and I still get the same code. I'm wondering if either the CPU or the motherboard is done for.

I can't remember all the specs, but I'll list them the best I can: ASRock Z77 Extreme4 Intel Core i5 (can't remember model) Corsair HX620W modular power supply 4x G.Skill RipjawsX DDR3-1600 4GB Gigabyte Radeon HD 7950

I'm not sure where to go from here. I haven't changed anything that would affect this. If anyone has any ideas on how to get it up and running again, I'd really appreciate the help

Asrock Z77 Extreme 4 BIOS problem - Dead mobo - D0 LED Status | Overclock.net
May 12, 2012 - I had a similar issue when upgrading from BIOS version 1.2 to 1.4. Initially after the upgrade, it was working, but within a few reboots I started getting the d0 code on the MB LED display. I was able to reflash to 1.2 because I could sporadically trigger a proper boot by resetting the bios, removing/adding RAM or removing expansion cards. Both 1.2 and 1.4 versions were downloaded from ASRock's web site, written to the same usb flash drive, and flashed from the MB's BIOS setup.

r/techsupport on Reddit: New PC build has Asrock Dr. Debug Code d0: DXE_CPU_ERROR
June 17, 2020 -

I just finished building my first pc (specs below) and when I went to POST for the first time, the mobo read the error code above. After researching, I was able to find a forum here suggesting that I might have either tightened down my water cooler too much or bent some pins on the cpu/mobo. After checking, it appears that the pins on the cpu/mobo are fine and I have also tried loosening the water cooling, but I’m still running into the issue.

March 28, 2017 - Recently I was busy troubleshooting an issue with my ASRock mainboard and Ryzen and I needed to lookup some of the Mainboard debug display error codes. As It turns out there aren’t really any official manuals I could find for this. So here are my debug codes that I could find and what they mean.

r/homelab on Reddit: Boot Error d0(ASRock Rack x570 4du)
November 1, 2025 -

Hey everyone, I’ve been trying to get my new server to boot for days now and I’m completely stuck. Maybe someone here can help me figure out what’s going on.

Motherboard: ASRock X570D4U

CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5950X

RAM: Mushkin MPL4E320NF32G28 (ECC UDIMM, 32 GB modules)

PSU: Corsair RM850x

Cooling: Be Quiet! Dark Rock Pro 5

My Issue

When I start the PC with one RAM stick in the first slot (A1), I get error code 10. When I put the same RAM stick in the third slot (A2), I get error code D0. The system doesn't reach the BIOS no video output, fans keep spinning, IPMI stays reachable but the system itself won’t POST.

What I’ve already tried

  1. Tested all RAM slots individually with a single stick (tested also with bin Ecc)

  2. Reset CMOS multiple times (removed the battery for several minutes)

  3. Updated BIOS via IPMI to the latest version available from ASRock

  4. Removed and reinstalled the CPU, checked for bent pins or visible damage

  5. Tested with an older CPU (Ryzen 5 2600) → this time it actually got further, and I got Debug Code F2 (Memory initialization error) instead of D0

  6. Verified PSU connections

I have no idea what else I can do. I bought all the components new, so they should Work corectly. Perhaps someone is smarter than me and has an idea.😭🙏🏻

PC Not Booting ( D0 Debug Code ) | Tom's Hardware Forum
May 4, 2017 - CPU errors so either you tightend the cooler down to hard causing a motherboard wire issue or the CPU is bad/missing pins. I would have added bent pins and bad motherboard but you already checked those. D0 = CPU initialization error So theres a change i might have cranked my cooler down to much?

d0 error code and pc turns on and off - Republic of Gamers Forum - 799470
March 7, 2024 - The led on the top right (when in the case) turns yellowish and the one on the bottom right turn orange/red. I tried to troobleshoot it by reseting the CMOS by placing a metal object on the two pins, short circuiting it . Now it changed and the system goes straight to "d0" and turns on and off continously, till I press the power button for 4 seconds.
