Hey guys i seem to be getting a 99 error code randomly and it just goes away when i restart, any ideas on why this is happening? btw my motherboard is a x870e nova with a 9800x3d.
Sometimes when i boot up my pc, the screen will just stay stuck at the asrock splash screen with error 99 displaying on the motherboard. Other times it boots up fine, however. I can't explain why.
As the manual says, this error means that there's something wrong with PCIe devices connected to the pc. I tried reseating the GPU 2 days ago, but the issue happened again today. Does anyone have any idea why this could happen? If nothing else works I'll try upgrading to the newest bios version.
Hello,
Building my first PC I got everything working but when I power on the computer I get a code 15 then after a few moments it goes to 99.
I already took out 1 piece of RAM and all my PCI-e slots are empty.
Crucial MTC20C2085S1EC48BA1R 32GB DDR5 SDRAM DDR5-4800/PC5-38400 CL40 1.1V ECC Unbuffered 288-pin DIMM. 2x
AMD Ryzen 9 7900x
Any idea?
Update: after the Computer on for 40 min. New error C5
I have been having problems with my PC since a few days ago. This system ran perfectly fine for the 3 years before this. I’ve been trying to boot my PC only to find it stops at the code bd/6d, I could find very little information on it, specs:
Asrock X99 Taichi i7-6800k 4x16 GBs Corsair Vengeance 2133 MHz GTX 1070 Aero ITX Kingston 1 TB NVMe drive (can’t remember any specifics on this one) Corsair RM750x PSU
I’ve been having problems with my RAM before this, I managed to get it to boot a couple of times and loaded UEFI defaults, did not change a thing.
I’ve been changing memory configurations swapping out sticks, it did not seem to change anything.
A summary of what I’ve tried:
Clear CMOS (at least a million times by now) Reseated CPU Reseated RAM Reinstalled graphics card Loaded UEFI defaults Different RAM configurations Checked for bent pins on the socket
Since this PC ran fine for multiple years, I’m assuming there are no compatibility issues. The memory sticks are a fine, tested via memtest.
Can anybody help me with this? I’m honestly out of options, this is the most trouble I’ve ever had with a mobo...
I just built a PC with a Auros B650E Master and my computer is stuck booting into a post code: 99. I have reseated the CPU, reseated the GPU, reseated the RAM, and the problem still persists. Is it possible my motherboard is bricked and needs to be RMA'd?
Also side note, it has 2 8 pin CPU connections and I'm only using one. Is that the issue?
Thanks in advance!
Hello guys,
A friend of mine recently tried building a new system. The specs are:
-
The motherboard is an ASRock X99X Fal1ty Killer (there is no onboard graphics card)
-
The CPU is an Intel 5820K
-
We've tried two different GPUs, the Asus Strix 960, and MSI 660ti
-
The RAM is Adata XPG Z1 166 (8x8)
When he boots the machine he gets lights, POST testing, and everything seems to be in order. However, after the keyboard lights up (its the Corsair RGB, although we also tested a CM Storm) the MB postcode stops at 99. Now at this point his monitor doesn't show anything, and the ASRock manual indicates it's a problem with the pci-e device.
I'm putting the troubleshooting we've tried below:
-
Unplugged all devices except for keyboard, ram, CPU, and GPU
-
Tried different pci-e slots
-
Tried two different gpus (the 970 and then the 660ti, which both worked for another computer)
-
Reseating the RAM
-
Tried one piece of RAM, and tried it in different slots
There might have been more, but I don't remember it at the moment. I'll do my best to answer any questions you guys might have.
Thanks in advance
EDIT: So after some brainstorming we tried a different cable from the graphics to the monitor. Lo and behold that worked.
