Am I reading correct that the step up option in BIOS is only for the X870E boards and not X870 with Asrock? Why??
Doesn't the CPU fan keep spinning up randomly all the time with a 7800X3D or 9800X3D? How are you controlling it if you have the Steel Legend?

Is there a guide to what step up, tolerance, PWM gate and the likes are and what good settings for them would be? My machine is much noisier at idle than I'd like. I have a 7800x3d on an x670e Taichi. What kind of temps should I be trying to keep to at idle and how low could I set fan speeds up to that point?
Hello,
Motherboard: asrock z390m-itx/ac
I recently added two noctua fans in the bottom of my case. I entered my bios to confirm they were detected and working. I have played with the system for a day of two and everything works as it should
For some reason I wanted to see what the Fan Turning option did and didnt realize it said "Detect the lowest fan speed in the system" in the description.
The system did a "Detecting your fan speed" and I had to wait.
When it was finished it said:
Cpu fan 1 minimal duty = 20%
Chassie fan 1 minimal duty = 25%
Chassie fan 2 minimal duty = 20%
Can someone explain what this means?
Ever since I pressed that option I have noticed my PC generates more noise, even at idle! Now, it annoys me that I can hear it compared to before!
I have pressed the Load default uefi setting and it still does it.
All of the fans er set to standard.
My FAN setting:
CPU FAN 1 Setting - Standard mode
CHA_FAN1 /W_PUMP Switch - CHA_FAN1
Chassis FAN 1 Control Mode - Auto
Chassis Fan 1 Setting - Standard Mode
Chassis Fan 1 Temp Source - Monitor M/B
Chassis Fan 2 setting - Standard Mode
Chassis Fan 2 Temp Source - Monitor M/B
CPU temp at IDLE is 48C and Motherboard at 43C
I wonder if the person before me did a fine tune of the system but I'm pretty sure everything was at default /stock.
Standard modes are noisy.
You need to set a fixed flat low speed until your CPU reaches 70c, then make them ramp up from 70c to 80c from that low speed to max speed.
Case fans with 3pin headers need "DC" to be able to ramp up/down. 4pin fans need "PWM"
I advice against automatic detection, it can be a hit and miss. Better do all manually.
Just set your own fan curves in BIOS. You can download the F-Stream Tuning app from the ASROCK shop to experiment on your desktop, then when you have the curve you like, take a picture of it with your phone and go into bios and set it in there. Just a case of you playing around with it until you get a setting you like. There's an option below Fantastic Tuning, I think it's just called Fan Tuning? If you press that you can set your own fan curves.
I recently reinstalled windows, and I realised that I have no longer got A-tuning installed, when I went to the B450M downloads, there is no A-tuning. I downloaded it from another motherboard downloads page and it does not open and states its not allowed on this system. I need to control my fans as I am not sure if my pump is running properly :(. The system is starting so show growth.
