March 6, 2024 - Hello BF is a memory error code. Remove the CPU and check for any bent or damaged socket pins. When remounting be sure the cooler is evenly but not overtightened. Also check the the board is not being bent/flexed from improper mounting.

March 6, 2024 - Funny, I have the same memory and get this same code occasionally. It only happens when I leave the computer asleep for several days. Eventually I go to turn it on and find it shut off. When it boots it hangs on "bf" code. Trying to reset it doesn't work. But evenutaly realized if I just kill the power switch and turn it back on it boots just fine.

March 6, 2024 - According to Acronis, there was a problem with Acronis loader and Windows 8 Secure Boot and there's a hotfix and the latest version to fix the problem however I didn't re-create the Acronis bootable Media. I re-created the disc and it's now working. Just in case anybody got Acronis and Windows 8, see info at Acronis knowledgebase '38965: Acronis Products: Cannot Boot Windows 8 Secure Boot Machines with Acronis Loader'. ... Ya noticed BF as well but that is all caps the code is lower case b, think it might something to do with voltages but not sure!

March 6, 2024 - That code is BF not 6F which i normally get when my vcore is to low or System agent voltage, I have seen this code go away after upping the system agent voltage even know the BD code also points to these voltages BF can also popup.

April 11, 2018 - Not too recently I bought a second hand Asus x99-S motherboard with a i7 5820k CPU and 32GB of Corsair LPX RAM Full specs linked here: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/RandomGuy13/saved/VXb2RB Every time I put the computer into sleep mode, It wont wake from sleep, I get a “BF” error code on the QCode readout and the PC turns off.

March 25, 2023 - I had two sticks of ram in and went down to one to further troubleshoot according to what they said at ASUS. I might as well just put the other back in now to test it again. ... Have you seen this? System Boot hangs @ FB ... I'd undo any OC you have and if possible try a different set of RAM ... I haven’t seen that exact forum post. I did set the ram back down to auto which runs it at 4000 instead of 6400 which it states. I don’t have another set of ram that is DDR5 to try but may try to get a cheap set and see if that fixes the issue.

October 16, 2021 - I am getting error code bf or 6f on my Asus x99 motherboard. It's only detecting 16gb ram out of 32 and as of today it's only detecting 8gb ram. All 4 ram stick are working fine when plug in a different slot one by one. Is it a motherboard issue or some power issue with the ram?

I didn't dig into it too much, but you might find a solution if you read through what others have done. Click to expand... The culprit was the bios. Swapped out the bios chip and it fixed my issue.

March 6, 2024 - Thats good your not having to may problems with your system i would still like to know if your system does come out of sleep after a few hours in, After setting the VCCSA a bit higher it seems to have fixed the problem, I normally Overclock my system as i normally only keep it for 2 years then upgrade just for the smell lol. ... I'll test the sleep thing for you sometime today or tonight. I do have an issue with my Asus PB278Q monitor not waking up though.
