Bios set my chasis fan to dc by default and i didn't change it. If pwn fan was set to dc, it couldn't damage it, or something? I suppose not, that would be retarded... r/ASUS on Reddit: How to change the cpu fan mode from PWM to VOltage?
May 12, 2024 -

I'm having trouble adjusting the CPU fan speed in the BIOS of my ASUS PRIME B660M-K D4 motherboard. While I can change the settings for the chassis fan, the CPU fan speed option appears to be grayed out and unclickable.

Is there a known reason why the CPU fan speed control might be locked in the BIOS? I've ensured the fan is properly connected to the CPU_FAN header on the motherboard.

Any advice on how to unlock this option or alternative methods for controlling the CPU fan speed would be greatly appreciated.

r/Asustuf on Reddit: How to Find Fan Control in BIOS
April 2, 2023 -

Hey guys,

Are there different BIOS layouts on Tuf laptops? Mine is the A15, and when I open BIOS by pressing F2 after turning on the computer, the layout doesn’t look like the ones in instructional videos. I can’t find the setting Smart Fan or Fan Settings or whatever the fan setting should be called.

It’s supposed to be under ”CPU”, ”Hardware Monitor” or ”Advanced”, but I can’t even find Hardware Monitor in any if the menus. I’ve opened the advanced settings but there was nothing either.

I need the fan settings to turn off a fan as it has a really loud weird noise (I have external fans as backup).

Thanks for helping out!

January 29, 2023 - The only fan control I manage in Armoury Crate are for two extra fans that blow air towards my chipset to help keep it cool. Just convenient for me. You should be able to set the fans how you want in BIOS if that's your preference. Just to say that hysteresis and the rate at which fans change speed are different settings (if offered in Fan Expert).
