Change the setting back and boot into windows. Open the partition manager. There should be a partition that's called "EFI" on your boot drive. If it's not there you need to reinstall Windows because it was, like you said, in legacy mode. You can also, when installing windows 11 as a fresh install, disable all the "requirements" for windows 11. Answer from Rfreaky on reddit.com

Updating BIOS for Windows 11 on ASUS Motherboard | Windows 11 Forum
January 13, 2024 - The previous BIOS (1903) didn't alter any BIOS code, it just applied the Windows 11 settings by default. Your BIOS should be set to UEFI, Secure Boot should be enabled, and the firmware TPM (trusted platform module) should be enabled. Unfortunately, Asus only provides a User's Manual for the Z390-A.

r/techsupport on Reddit: Changing BIOS Settings on ASUS to Support Windows 11
February 6, 2025 -

Hi all,

I have a Windows 10 PC that I upgraded last year with new hardware (mobo, cpu, gpu). With Windows 10 support coming to an end, I was looking to enable my system to support Windows 11. Currently I get a pop up from Windows saying my PC doesn't meet the requirements.

After some interwebs searches, I found I need to change my BIOS boot options from legacy to UEFI, to enable secure boot, and turn CSM off. I was able to do all those things. However, now when I boot up I go straight to BIOS and the OS doesn't seemingly get booted. Is the issue here that I installed the OS with the legacy boot mode? Will reinstalling the OS with these new BIOS settings fix the issue? Or is there another setting in the BIOS that should/could be changed to fix this issue?

Question about updating my ASUS BIOS. | Windows 11 Forum
March 22, 2024 - ASUS EZ Flash3 I pretty much agree with the post just above. Generally, I wait to flash the BIOS until the BIOS description lists a reason to do so. I never use a beta BIOS. I update the motherboard chipset drivers... every time a new non-Beta version is released.
