February 17, 2021I accidentally pressed clear cmos
While trying to go change some of my bios setting. I pressed the clear cmos button on the back of my asus maximus IX hero while the power was on. My computer made a loud noise and restarted. I may have messed up graphics card settings on bios and I have know clue how or where I need to look to reset cmos please help Edit 1: it wasn’t the settings my graphics card wasn’t in completely but my battery was behind my GPU so if you have an ASUS motherboard make sure to take out your gpu and check under it

there should be a jumper on the motherboard which can be set > power on > set the jumper back > power on. the motherboard manual will tell you where the bios clear jumper is
edit: makesure you power off the machine before changing the jumper
or easiest and lazy way would be to remove the power form the machine then remove the CMOS (silver coin) battery. press the power button, the fans will probably spin for a second, this should clear your bios.
reconnect the battery and power and power on as normal and make any changes you need to your bios
