ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII Hero Wi-Fi - Dual M.2 drives installation
Where exactly do each of these go in the front panel? I have an asus rog crosshair viii motherboard,
Asus ROG Crosshair VIII Dark Hero X570 worth the premium over Aorus Master?
[Motherboard] ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII Hero X570 (Wi-Fi) ATX - $379.99
I just can't see any justification for these extreme high end mobos. I consider myself an enthusiast with tech youtube channels being my entertainment and constantly interacting with PC subreddits. I got my X470 Taichi for $170 like 2 years ago and there has not been one time where I have been limited by my motherboard in anyway. These motherboards are I think just for people who want to say they have it. But I think that is just Asus products in general.

Hi everyone
I currently have a PC with ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII Hero Wi-Fi Mobo, RTX 3090 connected to the PCIE 16X slot , and an M.2 drive (Samsung 980 PRO PCle 4.0 NVMe M.2 1TB SSD) connected to the M.2_1 socket.
Now, I want to extend my storage by buying a new drive (Samsung 980 PRO PCle 4.0 NVMe M.2 2TB SSD) and installing it in the M.2_2 socket.
I read some contradicting information regarding Windows not being able to recognize the second drive for all sorts of reasons. (such as this one: https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?110337-Crosshair-VII-Hero-dual-M-2-SATA-drives-M-2_2-missing)
Can anyone here, based on the setup I detailed, say if I will be able to successfully install and use the new drive I want to buy?
Thanks a lot.
