• switch on = sudo echo 0 > /sys/devices/platform/asus-nb-wmi/hwmon/hwmon4/pwm1_enable
  • switch off = sudo echo 2 > /sys/devices/platform/asus-nb-wmi/hwmon/hwmon4/pwm1_enable

please note that you must check which folder contanins pwn1_enable (in my case hwmon4)

April 21, 2026 - Some models adopt a concealed exhaust vent design (e.g., UX series) where the exhaust vent is not on the sides of the laptop but rather at the hinge of the laptop screen, as indicated by the red box in the diagram below. Note: A few models (e.g., T100 series) use passive cooling with the heat dissipated through the chassis, without a fan or exhaust vent.

Question - Fan control on ASUS laptop | Tom's Hardware Forum
February 29, 2020 - What is the SKU for your ROG laptop? In essence, I think you should be controlling the fans on the laptop, rather see if undervolting the CPU gives you better thermals, i.e reduced fan ramp ups, since the fan curve set from the factory is much better, it will only ramp up when necessary.

How do I control the fan speed, if... - Republic of Gamers Forum - 118487
March 6, 2024 - No, you can't really control it directly. Different power profiles, both in Windows and in P4G, will use the fan more or less (depends on how they employ passive and active cooling), but it's not like you can manually set the speed.
