I recently built a PC and thought this motherboard (Asus Prime B550M-A WiFi II, windows 11 ready) was a nice option for having the WiFi 6 and Bluetooth included. But I cannot make it work. I installed the antenna hardware properly, downloaded Drivers on the product website and Intel respective website.
I tried it on Windows 11 which is the OS I plan to use. I will make a list of what I tried to solve the problem:
- downloaded and installed all respective drivers (BT-22.140.0-32-64UWD-Win10-Win11, WiFi-22.140.0-Driver64-Win10-Win11, DRV_Bluetooth_Intel_non211_SZ-TSD_W11_64_V228004_20211022R and DRV_WiFi_Intel_All_SZ-TSD_W11_64_V228011_20211022R)
- downloaded and installed the ArmouryCrate for the motherboard
- downloaded and installed the chipsets
- check for any built static by turning it off, pulling out the power cable, held the power button for a while (30+ seconds) and turned it all back int. (Tried this a few times during my attempts to solve the issue).
- used windows troubleshooting
- uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled it through the manager
- tried some cmd prompt commands to activate wi-fi on start-up and such
I have been trying alternatives for more than a day and this is getting me really upset... Don't really know what to do anymore.

So i recently bought an asus b550m-a motherboard and for the life of me could not figure why bluetooth would continuously disconnect and not work properly at all.. But i thought since its an intel device to check for the drivers from their website and I used the intel driver support tool and it installed the proper updated drivers! Do not use the drivers from asus website they are currently outdated. https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/intel-driver-support-assistant.html If anyone has the same problem use this link and install hopefully that will work for you!
Just thought I’d do my due diligence and leave this here for the next person to fall upon this issue.
Had a friend buy this motherboard and ask me to install it for them, had no issues during installation, booted and posted first time, updated BIOS, then I logged in and started installing drivers. When I ran the WIFI driver from ASUS website, nothing seemed to happen. I quickly realised there were no wifi icons to be seen (either in quick access or settings). I checked device manager - yellow caution symbol, auto update wasn’t detecting anything available and searching manually also wasn’t picking up this very blatant file on my desktop.. BIOS - to see if onboard WIFI was enabled - which it was.. even enabling ‘WWAN AutoConfig’ under services and yep, definitely not taking the install. I attempted numerous times, restarting and trying again with still, nothing working.
Then, while looking through the manual, I realised that the WIFI driver install file that I had gotten from Asus’s website (keep in mind, you need to input your exact model details to get the correct drivers, which I had done) WASN’T THE CORRECT DRIVER FOR THE BOARD. The WIFI driver that it asks for you to install from their website under Asus B550M-A Wifi II.. is a MediaTek driver, the CORRECT WIFI driver that is used by the motherboard… requires the RealTek WIFI driver..
Flick me a message if you need this driver, also if you need to double check which driver you require, that can be found one of three ways, in the user guide under ‘specification summary’, checking CPU-Z or using Asus’s Armory Crate. Cheers lads
I've had this motherboard for over 2 years and I've tried everything to get the bluetooth working but every time it just shows up as a,
"Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)".
No idea what to do, I've already contacted the retailer and ASUS since I'm beginning to suspect it is a hardware issue but this will be a last ditch effort for solutions before I do anything with the seller.
For anyone who still has this issue (2024):
- Download ASUS Armoury Crate. (ASUS Software Manager)
- Create an ASUS Account and register your motherboard using the serial number on the box.
- Using the Armoury application, download all the recommended drivers.
- Restart Computer.
This is what fixed it for me!
I also updated to the latest version of Windows 11.

UPDATE: I have resolve the issue. I have looked up the hardware ID online it was a RealTek 8852BE Wireless LAN WiFi 6 PCI-E NIC which I downloaded online and now works :D

So the motherboard in the title of this post is the one my friend got. He is having issues with bluetooth, where the on off switch doesn't show up. I'm assuming the board doesn't come with bluetooth then? Either that or something needs to be set up. If anyone can either help fix the issue (if possible) or just recommend some adapter for bluetooth, that would be great.
Edit: Apparently there was some sort of static build up, so my friend managed to fix the issue and is now getting bluetooth.
