Question - Asus Prime X570 Pro, M.2 SSD Install questions! Pls HALP! | Tom's Hardware Forum
October 14, 2023 - You might if you are highly temp-averse, for good reasons or not. With the OS and apps on that fastest drive. Both ports support gen 4 drives. You should certainly be able to transfer "everything" from the old SSD to the faster one. Via cloning or imaging. Neither cloning or imaging would require that you format anything. That would be taken care of by the cloning or imaging process. Or do a clean install onto the fastest drive.

980 pro, 2280 size M. A guy build by computer and didn't send the m.2 hardware when sent fininished pc. Under heat sink I see some low standoffs(from pictures, I haven't opened up and looked under heat ) I know Asus send a standoff and m.2 screws. Will I need a standoff for 2nd m.2 and if so what size. Also m.2 come in 2.5 or 3.0 size. I know I can order from amazon but I want to make sure it includes correct size since they mostly come with different size standoffs and m.2. Thanks.

r/buildapc on Reddit: How would two M2 NVMEs work on ASUS PRIME X570-Pro
April 28, 2021 -

Hi new builder here!

I was planning on using the ASUS PRIME X570-PRO and going double M2s, how would that work on this board? I’ve heard that on some boards going double M2 might affect the GPU and it’s bandwidth since the second M2 place some times share lanes with the GPU depending on which board you use or something like that... My local shop told me to check the manual but I thought I would ask you guys at the same time... Do any of you know if going two M2s on it will work fine or will it affect my GPU and Im better of just going one M2 and one SATA instead?

January 9, 2020 -

So quick question, long time computer user , first time computer builder!

I have the Asus Prime X570-Pro (like it says in the title) and it has two M.2 slots. the lower one has a heatsink, the upper does not. I know generally the rule of thumb is to place the NVME in the upper slot but since the lower has a heatsink will the lower work for a NVME installed for my OS?

Question - ASUS Prime X570-PRO not allowing EVO 970 M.2 to be bootable | Tom's Hardware Forum
October 7, 2019 - I just went in and CSM was disabled, enabled it and it booted to windows. Why would it need compatibility mode? I did not touch this before on initial windows install. Now that I think about it, I may have installed the Asus provided chipset drivers in windows before I shut down to update the bios.
