ASUS PRIME X570-P vs X570-PRO
Hows Asus Prime X570-p?
It has great VRM, I have it and I am very happy with it. Bios might be a bit confusing for some people but I didn't have a problem. My 3900X never goes past 72ºC (noctua nhu12s).
It will also be able to handle anything from zen 3, even the 4950X, has pci 4.0 etc. The tomahawk is cheaper but is also a great board. I went with the prime because tomahawk was out of stock, but I don't regret it. Watch hardware unboxed review on it on yt, he will explain better than me.

I am going to use the processor below. What power supply should i get to power the board? I have a 750watt power supply right now and not sure if i need a bigger one.
AMD RYZEN 9 3900X 12-Core 3.8 GHz
will this run second gen ryzen processors?
Will the M.2_1 location below the GPU slot cause clearance issues with large SSD heatsinks? And if it does fit, is that an airflow/thermal concern?

Hi AMDers,
Trying to decide which motherboard to get for a new 3800X based build. The PRO is ~$70 more expensive than the P so I'm trying to find some good reasons to go for it. I assume it has "better components" (whatever that means) but otherwise it seems worse from some points of view, especially in regards to USB connectivity. The P[1] comes with 2 USB 3.2 Gen2 and 2 USB 3.2 Gen1 wired to the CPU, 2 USB 2.0 and 2 USB 3.2 Gen2 wired to the chipset. The PRO[2] on the other hand has 4 USB 3.2 Gen1 wired to the CPU (curious, no USB 3.2 Gen2 wired to the CPU at all) and 4 USB 3.2 Gen2 wired to the chipset (I haven't done the math but can the 4x PCI-E 4.0 carry all that data, together with SATA and everything else?). Also the PRO seems to have "better" LAN chipset (Intel vs Realtek) and some additional audio features (although same chip, but I'm going to use an old Creative X-Fi Titanium).
Maybe for some people the 2x USB 2.0 on the P is a drawback but in my experience having a few USB 2.0 ports can be a big advantage as I've encountered in the past USB devices (memory sticks, some controllers) that were incompatible with USB 3.0 ports.
So right now, ignoring the price, I'm actually leaning towards the P but I'm afraid I may be missing something important on the pricier PRO. Can someone convince me otherwise? :)
