I'm looking to upgrade my current CPU, mobo, and ram but I want a black and white aesthetic. I was looking at the G.Skill Neos ram and a Ryzen 7 3700x. How is the Asus Prime X570-Pro as far as VRM cooling and reliability? Any other boards y'all would recommend? I'm not ready to pull the trigger quite yet, just trying to get an idea of what I want to go for.
Hey everyone. I just wanted to let you know if you plan on building a white theme and are looking at an Asus Prime x570 Pro please avoid them at all cost. I've only had terrible experiences with them and want to save you time, money, and sanity so I'll elaborate on this for you.
So, I ordered both of them from Amazon. Boxes were fine, no dents or anything. On the first boot up I got to the bios page but it wouldn't let me enter into it when I hit Delete or F2. I restarted it hoping it would work and when it booted up. Nothing, just a black screen. The ram light was flashing on the mobo so I switched in my old ram which was working on my old computer but it still didn't boot. I was dissapointed but ended up tearing it down after taking it to a shop to get inspected and sent it back. It was a bad board and I was unlucky. Then the second one arrived. While I was able to get it to boot and got into the bios this time I was having weird issues with the USB. It Just randomly would make disconnect sounds all around. I tried every USB and it kept happening. I went into the power options to stop windows from disconnecting the USB too. It still happened until the final blow. Literally after a week of my mobo being installed. While in game and still hearing disconnecting USB sound randomly it just shutdown, Asus Prime page showed up, and it rebooted. It would do it every time I tried to turn on the PC and play games.
I'm super dissapointed with the company and will never buy another one of their motherboards. Having issues with two different boards in a row in roughly a two week span is pretty unacceptable. They really need to work on their quality control. I would also like to say that I am a beginner PC builder. Its my second build but I know that I couldn't be anything I did wrong. I took it into a professional shop to get it looked at both times just to make sure I didn't break anything and they confirmed it was just a motherboard issue. I hope that anyone who is considering an Asus Prime x570 Pro is now informed enough to make a better decision then I did.

Specs Cpu- ryzen 9 5900x, ryzen 5 3600 (tried both Ram-32gb vengeance 3200(it's my old ik it works Gpu- msi 1070 gaming x(Ik it works on my other build Psu- Thermaltake 850 gold Monitor- Acer pred also know it works
All new parts when I first attempted to post. I've switched to only one stick of ram and a gpu from my old build. I've also tested psu and thats not the issue either. Reset cmos. I've tried both the cpus neither have worked. Mb is supposed to support 5000 series out of the box but I didn't trust so I bought a used 3700 as well so I can boot and update bios. Neither has worked. Tried hdmi and display port to gpu obvi. All front panel io is plugged in correctly as well. Q led lights are not on and my mb didn't come with the speaker so I've not heard any beeps. My case fans worked earlier as well as rbg but I unplugged because their not necessary yet. I'm sure there's other steps I'm forgetting to mention but I really have no idea what the problem is. Please help
Hi, I've just put together a build from second-hand parts but unfortunately the computer won't POST. The RGB lights from the motherboard and RAM work, the CPU and chassis fans spin but nothing else seems to work with no display. The manual says that the diagnostic LEDs on the right of the RAM can be used to figure out which part is not functioning right, but none of them light up at all when I boot up the motherboard. I found a motherboard speaker from another PC, on booting it seems to produce a garbled buzz every couple seconds that keeps on going until turned off. I know the speaker works when plugged into my other PC.
This is roughly the build with an old ATX coolermaster case that I can't ID:
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/VhZ6YN
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3800XT 3.9 GHz 8-Core Processor
CPU Cooler: Thermalright Assassin X 120 Refined SE 66.17 CFM CPU Cooler
Motherboard: Asus PRIME X570-PRO ATX AM4 Motherboard
Memory: Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB 32 GB (4 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600 CL18 Memory
Storage: Samsung 1TB SSD
Video Card: Gigabyte GAMING Radeon RX 580 8 GB Video Card
Power Supply: Cooler Master MasterWatt Lite 500W Full Range 500 W 80+ Certified ATX Power Supply
I've tried reseating CPU, GPU, RAM, clearing CMOS but nothing seems to work :(
The only thing I can think of is that the power supply doesn’t come with a 4-pin ATX cable to the motherboard so it’s just powered by the 8-pin ATX and 24-pin ATX right now.
Does anyone have any experience solving this kind of problem? Thank you!
edit: turns out the power supply was the problem. All of the fans lights etc were turning on so didn’t think that was the problem, but when I replaced the psu and reset the cmos again it finally posted. One of the cables must’ve been kinked or broken in some way to not affect the other bits but enough to prevent it from posting.
Both are about the same price. I could like to stick with ASUS because of prior experience.

The motherboard has 3 16x PCIe slots but the bottom one is 4x only. There is also 2 M.2 slot, both are PCIe 4.0 with suitable CPU. What I can't find is: are the M.2 slot shared with any of PCIe slots? That is if I plugged an M.2 drive or both, would one of the PCIe slot be 8x rather than 16x? I tried reading the manual but it's gibberish to me. All I can tell is the top PCIe slot is 16x if the middle slot is empty, and both slots will be 8x if both are occupied. Or would using 5800x3D allow both to be 16x?
Gimmie PCI, there were no lanes and no need to juggle expansion cards and different slots to get the best performance.
Using AMD 5800x3D CPU BTW
Is it ok for the price, or is there a better option in that range? Thanks! :)
I'm getting a 5900x, wondering if anyone has had any issues doing a BIOS update for this motherboard.
Current Rig Specs
Ryzen 7 3800x
RTX 3080 FE

Will I run into any issues or am I good to go? Thanks in advance for the replies!
I can get either board for the same price, I will be running a 5700x, kind of stuck on which one to get. I really like the back type c and front type c connector of the A-Pro as I have a front type-c header for my case, but wasn't sure if I would be sacrificing too much performance from not getting a x570
Is it worth the cash? I’m currently running a Ryzen 5 2600 but planning to upgrade to a 9 3900 in the future when I get my degree. The main reason I want it is that it fits well with my case and looks great with the white. Does it justify the $300 aus? Thanks
As the title says, I would like to have a white accented board for a white build. I am kind of new to this, so I would just like some general guidance.

Hi AMDers,
Trying to decide which motherboard to get for a new 3800X based build. The PRO is ~$70 more expensive than the P so I'm trying to find some good reasons to go for it. I assume it has "better components" (whatever that means) but otherwise it seems worse from some points of view, especially in regards to USB connectivity. The P[1] comes with 2 USB 3.2 Gen2 and 2 USB 3.2 Gen1 wired to the CPU, 2 USB 2.0 and 2 USB 3.2 Gen2 wired to the chipset. The PRO[2] on the other hand has 4 USB 3.2 Gen1 wired to the CPU (curious, no USB 3.2 Gen2 wired to the CPU at all) and 4 USB 3.2 Gen2 wired to the chipset (I haven't done the math but can the 4x PCI-E 4.0 carry all that data, together with SATA and everything else?). Also the PRO seems to have "better" LAN chipset (Intel vs Realtek) and some additional audio features (although same chip, but I'm going to use an old Creative X-Fi Titanium).
Maybe for some people the 2x USB 2.0 on the P is a drawback but in my experience having a few USB 2.0 ports can be a big advantage as I've encountered in the past USB devices (memory sticks, some controllers) that were incompatible with USB 3.0 ports.
So right now, ignoring the price, I'm actually leaning towards the P but I'm afraid I may be missing something important on the pricier PRO. Can someone convince me otherwise? :)

Planning on running a 3700x paired with a RX 5700 XT or RTX 2070 Super. Particularly looking for something that is either complete black or with white accents. Very much a fan of the look at these two, however for what I am running and the fact that I don't plan to manually overclock, do I need these? I have just read so many horror stories of peoples experiences with zen2 and b450/x370/x470 boards and want to make sure my board can handle the strain of a 3700x. However, if other boards seem more appropriate for my needs, what else would you recommend? Any advice is appreciated!

I also don't have an old cpu to upgrade the bios of previous boards.
I bought asus prime x570 pro and am thinking of buying a ryzen 7 5800x but I don’t know if my motherboard that I got in December has the new bios update that supports it and does bios flashback exist on this motherboard I need to know or should I buy a ryzen 9 3900x please
I wanna get that motherboard, considering its more future proof, atm its way cheaper than all x570 and readily available.
Should I get it? Im currently using a ryzen 5 3600 on an a320m-k
I want to get an aio later on and more ram, what if my ram modules do not appear on the qvl of this motherboard? Are almost all of them compatible? Or have you run into any problems with ram modules?
Also Ive got a rather long gpu and it may block the chipset fan, will the hot air from my gpu warm it up?
So I made an impulse buy on Sunday got a new 3600x chip and the x570 prime pro. I keep reading that it's not good for gaming..? Which is my primary use, of course I didnt do any research beforehand so it's my fault but can anyone explain why this is bring said? What about the board makes it no good for gaming?
