So...I've been trying to plan a build and was about to pull the trigger on either a 12900k or 13700k (microcenter bundles), but when I looked at the reviews of the motherboards included (similar motherboard in both bundles, 12900k has the V, 13700k has the P), I started noticing that some of the reviews were bad. While they dont look AS bad as what a lot of the AMD bundles are dealing with, it's enough to give me pause to buy.
So...how bad is this model? Is it really as bad as some people say it is? What are your experiences with it? The other parts of the bundle look great, it's mostly the motherboard on this one that looks sketchy.

I have built a good number of computers for myself and friends ranging from budget builds to high end machines. I have never had an issue with a motherboard relative to its price range. The prime z790-p would be awful value if it was free. It was a nightmare to build with and shit the bed within 3 months.
The problems are endless with this board. For starters NOTHING on this board seems like it was soldered, the bottom USB 3.0 header is a single time use. Attempting to remove the cable brings the whole header with it. The sata ports must have been hot glued on, a slight tug with very little force on the wire broke the header off.
And it doesn't stop there, the board is inexplicably 1/2 of an inch shorter than standard ATX boards meaning the right side standoffs don't make contact and there are no holes for them. Plugging in the 24 pin near shattered this board.
I really do wish that could have been the last of the problems. But nope, the power delivery on the board gave out. I could not get it to boot with a GPU. I swapped GPUs, PSU, tested with 1 stick of ram, and nothing worked. Booted off the CPU integrated graphics just fine.
Let me close by saying this is the single worst board I have ever seen and it's extremely disappointing coming from a reputable brand like ASUS. I am not going to RMA this board because I never want to see another one again.
I have been trying for the last 3 hours to set up my new pc that has a asus prime z790-p and I can’t get past the bios upon start up I have a external hard drive with the windows thing that you need and it is plugged in the back of the pc and I have tried like 20 different setting changes and restarted and nothing just keeps coming back to the bios page. Looking for a friend to help
