Confused by Q-LED in Asus ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO

Same setup as you. I just fixed it though. Go into the BIOS>Advanced\Onboard Devices Configuration: LED lighting When system is in working state: All On Q-Code LED Function: Auto When system is in sleep, hibernate or soft off states: All On If you have RGB memory and fans and they are off when you boot back into Windows, you can turn them back on in Armoury crate. ROG MAXIMUS Z790?

I have one. I'm not a power user, I just play games and it works well enough. It has 3 on board NVME slots and I have to move my boot drive off of the topmost one because it wouldn't recognize the drive 75% of the time. The PCIE5.0 is a sham too. It's only supported on the expansion card and then it's only supported on the 2nd PCIE slot so it'll either block your GPU's fans or if the GPU is big enough it'll block the slot. More on reddit.com

Is Asus ROG MAXIMUS Z790 DARK HERO ATX LGA1700 Motherboard worth the price?

I am going to probably buy this board but still doing final research. It seems to be an update for both the Creator Pro AND the Hero motherboards at least that is my own opinion after comparing them to each other. The Dark Hero has less sata ports but increased power stages to 20+1+2 where as the creator Pro has 16+1+2 and I think the Hero is less as well. Both the Hero and Creator Pro have Wifi 6E but the Dark Hero has WiFi 7 and with that an update to BlueTooth 5.4 and some other components on the board. I am thinking it is sitting right in between as a Creator and Gamer board. I am going to use it as the base for a work station build. Memory is tough with this one and I am finding it difficult to choose memory but am refering to the QVL list for the motherboard. 8000Mhz seems to ONLY be supported for 48GB of memory were as 96GB top speed supported is 7000Mhz and seems from others experience 6800Mhz is the top end at the moment. Future Bios updates may change that, dunno. The $650 price is a sales price and seems to be bouncing between $700+ and $640 over the last week from this post date. More on reddit.com
