Anybody running this Motherboard, that can lead me in the direction of some RAM? I’m trying to run 32GB (2x16GB), for my Ryzen 5600X. Originally was looking for 3600mhz, but just realized the 5600X really only supports 3200mhz. I’d like to run Corsair Vengeance if anybody has experience with that.
Hey guys,
I am currenty building a gaming rig around the 5600X and a 3070. Everything is planned out, got some parts ready and steady, while waiting for some others, but I really needed to ask your opinions / experiences about the Strix B550-F Gaming Wi-Fi mobo's memory compatibility.
My original plan was to populate all 4 DIMMs, since based on GamersNexus, it gives a healthy boost to framerate on the Ryzen 5000 CPUs. I quite liked the Teamgroup T-Force Delta RGB looks, and they also have a 2x8 gig 3600mhz kit, which would be nice for the FCLK in some cases (afaik Ryzen have an affair with high-freq memory). This said kit would cost me about 110$ here in Hungary (yeah I live there).
My main problem is though, that I checked all the availavable QVLs on ASUS', Teamgroup's and some third party sites, and all of them stated that the Strix B550-F isn't compatible with the 3600mhz Delta RGB kit. There's some alternatives in the 200-230$ range for 4x8gb 3600mhz: basically I could go for a 4x8 Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro, or 2x2x8 Trident-Z CL18 (not the neo), or 2x2x8 TG T-Force Nighthawks. Yet, I don't like the looks of the Tridents (yeah, shame on me), and not even sure about it's Aura Sync compatibility. About the Corsair ones: iCue (I think I said it all). Nighthawks could work but they are not as pretty as the Delta RGB, for me at least.
Questions are:
1.: If I buy 2 similar 2x8 kits, can I shove them in the mobo, set the XMP to 3600mhz CL18 (all of the above mentioned kits are rated on these freq + timings), and hope for it to work, or do I have to manually tune them, possibly for lower timings (CL19?) to make a 2x 2x8 kit work together?
2.: Does the 3600mhz Delta RGB really not work with the Strix B550-F? That sounds weird, but based on those QVLs... I was hoping that someone maybe uses those sticks and/or possibily the same mobo, and knows more about their compatibility than said sites.
Please help out your fellow builder!
I hope you all have a nice day and I wish you all a merry christmas,
Adam
I've looked at the compatibility list and also called the local support and couldn't get a clear answer. The only answer I received was "they weren't sure".
Are the following RAM compatible with the ROG STRIX B550-F Gaming WIFI:
1.) HyperX Fury DDR4-3200 16GB*2 (HX432C16FB3K2/32)
2.) HyperX Fury RGB DDR4-3200 16GB*2 (HX432C16FB3AK2/32)
3.) G.SKill Trident DDR4-3200 16GB*2 (F4-3200C16D-32GTZR)

Is this ram compatible with a R5 5600x and Asus Rog Strix b550-f gaming motherboard? It’s not on the Asus QVL but I don’t see why it wouldn’t be compatible.
