You need to clear the CMOS after updating the BIOS to be 100% sure there is no data left over from the previous BIOS.

And from experience with my Asus ROG Strix B450-F, I will strongly advise you to hold in the Power Button for at least 30 seconds after you unplug the PSU and before you short the CLR_RTC jumper.

After a BIOS update/rollback, it's always advisable to do a CMOS clear. Check your manual, to the clear, and report back.

I recently just upgraded my gpu from a Gigabyte GeForce 1070 to a NVIDIA GeForce 4080 & my Ryzen 7 3700x to a Ryzen 9 5900x. Per a warning message in PCPartPicker, it made me aware that the ASUS ROG Strix x-570e needed to have updated BIOS to be compatible with my new cpu. I updated my BIOS to version 4408 and now I’m stuck on the BIOS screen. Any idea what I can do to fix this?

Most X570 motherboards shipped will have a BIOS release that will likely support the later Zen 3 CPUs. This warning exists because there is a possibility that this motherboard has been sitting on the shelf for years, and the bios will need to be upgraded. If that is the case, you will need to have a 3000 series processor handy to upgrade the bios to support the 5000 series, take the 3000 series processor out, and insert your 5900X back in. AMD offers a short term processor loan boot kit if you get stuck with this problem: https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/pa-100
