Asus ROG Zephyrus G16 review. It's a great gaming laptop.

So,
I finally pulled the trigger on the ASUS Zephyrus G16 2024 after months of saving, research, and watching every YouTube review like it was my life's mission. "Premium build," they said. "Top-tier performance," they said. ASUS really had me believing I was getting the gold standard of gaming laptops.
Instead, I got a luxury-priced stress test:
-
The hinge makes a CRACK sound every time I open or close it. Not a gentle click, not a reassuring snap—an "I think I just broke something" level of crack. Apparently, some cheap plastic in the hinge area is to blame. Nothing screams "premium experience" like questioning your life choices every time you adjust the screen.

The touchpad has a mind of its own. Sometimes it works, sometimes it’s on strike. It’s like playing a game of "Will I Need an External Mouse Today?" Spoiler: I usually do.
For the price of a decent used car, I expected fewer budget-tier surprises. The performance is solid (when it actually functions), but at this price, I shouldn’t have to cross my fingers every time I use the damn thing.
This isn’t a full-on "I regret my purchase" post—more of a "Hey ASUS, y’all really dropped the ball on QC" rant. When you're shelling out this much cash, the only crackling sound you should hear is from your game’s audio, not your laptop frame.
And the best part? Who knows what exciting bonus issues I'll discover next! Maybe the keyboard will start typing in hieroglyphics, or the speakers will randomly start whispering ominous messages. Can't wait.
Anyone else dealing with these kind of problems? Share your horror stories, so I can feel less alone in my expensive disappointment. Cheers!
