A few of my priorities for a new laptop were: 17.3" screen, good graphics card, backlit keyboard with number pad, large hard drive, disc drive, i7, 1TB. I did not have to compromise any of that (although there were only a few laptops available at any retailer that fit my requirements within my budget). The bonus to this model was that it had a touchscreen, free Windows 10 update, and the keyboard was designed for gaming.
