TL;DR - I ultimately need to know if the monitor will carry both display AND touchscreen feedback to/from the iPad Mini via HDMi, or if I'll need another USB to Micro-USB adapter to connect the monitor feedback in addition to an HDMi cable.
Guys I bit off a bit more than I could chew at my restaurant. I'm in charge of doing an "IT move" for our kitchen to get rid of paper tickets and use a digital kitchen display system(KDS) instead. I need someone else to scratch their head a bit on this project, for what I have so far mapped out.
I am scaling small with one setup, but will have probably two more of the same setup if this proof of concept works. We use Square POS, for clarification. The KDS we'll be using is Fresh KDS, if that matters. I do know the monitor and iPads I've looked at are compatible with the apps and each other. The POS sends an order to the iPad mini(running only the KDS) to show the digital ticket, which will show up on our multi-touchscreen monitors.
Here are the parts and links for what I'm trying to keep charged/connected both with Bluetooth and Wifi, in addition to hard-wiring:
-
iPad Mini 4
-
Lightning to HDMi/USB/Lightning charging adapter
-
USB to Ethernet adapter
-
ASUS VT229H multi-touchscreen monitor
The monitor doesn't connect to wifi or bluetooth, so I'm using an ethernet to usb adapter to get stable connectivity to the iPad Mini(s) to receive orders, then attaching the iPads to the monitor via HDMi to get the secondary(larger) display for the kitchen staff to interact with.
My ROG Flow X13 was working fine until recently, when the pen and touchscreen stopped registering inputs on certain parts of the screen (as shown below). I have not dropped it or anything, however it randomly started.
In the attached image, I'm trying to draw a line that goes up and down, and I'm not removing my stylus throughout. This same issue occurs in the same zones or areas when I'm trying to scroll. Additionally, this issue isn't tied to a specific application or program; it occurs when I use anything.
If anyone has experienced this before or knows a fix, any help would be greatly appreciated.
Update 1:
Update 1 ImageThe image attached above is how my touchscreen now responds to my stylus or finger after I have followed the troubleshooting steps mentioned on this link: https://www.asus.com/support/faq/1042685/.
If anyone knows how or what I should do next, any help would be greatly appreciated.
I recently bought an ASUS vivobook flip with windows 11 (os build number 26100.6899) about a month ago for college, it froze a few times and I had to force shut it down. However, ever since then, the touch screen function has not been working. I looked up a couple fixes, but nothing has worked. I've opened the device manager and the HID compliant touch screen driver wasn't there, I've troubleshooted the hardware and it hasn't found a problem, and I simply don't know what to do. I love the touch screen function and really want it back. Anyone know what I can do?
