Bought an ASUS device recently? Go check your warranty expiry date and prepare to be shocked
That's odd. I just got mine last night, and it asked me to enter the purchase date. Also had a hefty discount on it from Micro Center grand opening nearby and I did not have this issue. More on reddit.com

ASUS Warranty vs. BestBuy
I used to work for Best Buy/ Geek squad for 8 years up until 2 years ago, The process never changed but the advice I'll give still may be outdated. EDIT: Re-read your post and thought you had the laptop for 10 months since you said it had 2 months left on the warranty. For clarification, since you bought it from best buy 5 days ago you still have a 1 year MANUFACTURE warranty on the laptop through best buy. Not 2 months. Good news is that even though you bought it open-box its still covered under a 1 year warranty with Asus. So long as you have the receipt, put your phone number on the transaction, or still having the original credit card, geek squad/ customer service can look up and verify your purchase and warranty. Bad news is even though its covered and geek squad can send it out to get repaired, it will take a minimum of 2 weeks and upwards to 1 month+ to get the laptop back (this varies by store location but from my experience this is the average timeframes). This is because Geek squad has one massive repair center in Kentucky so all hardware repairs that can't be done in store are sent there (the reason its there is because its next to UPS's Hub for the whole US). If you are close to the hub you might get lucky and it will get sent back faster. Another thing to keep in mind, Geek squad and Asus dont just fix one issue with the repair. If your battery is failing sure they will replace it; but if your motherboard, SSD, or other components fail their tests they will replace those parts too. This could mean longer times for the repair if they dont have the parts on hand. Another big consideration is your data could be destroyed/wiped when you get it back. Make sure to backup all your data before attempting any repair. All in all I would make sure your 100% sure its something with the hardware before your send it out. You can also contact Asus and see if they have a faster repair time too. I will say there is a ton of stuff you can do to get the 7-8 hour battery. Here is a bullet list of things to try. Make sure your laptop is in "Eco mode". Check armoury crate and make sure it says just your CPU graphics and not the nvidia graphics at the top of the armoury crate page. A easy way to tell is download nvidia control panel and try to launch it. if your nvidia GPU is actually turned off the program will give you a error and say it cant detect a nvidia GPU. in armoury crate make sure to make "windows" selected as a preset instead of silent, performance, or manuel. Then click on your battery tab on your taskbar and either use the slider to select battery saver or right click and select a batter saver power plan or create one. Also make sure Panel Power Saver for screen is on in armoury crate. Check your task manager and for good measure pin it to your taskbar by right clicking on it. Select more details and under the processes tab click on memory. Check to see what is running in the background. Close any processes that are taking up a ton of memory. You may want to right click and open file location and fully delete some of these. Make sure to google everything you want to delete to make sure its something you dont need or will brick up windows. Some things to look out for is xbox service capture, windows defender, game clients like steam, epic games store, etc. Check want apps start on startup in the startup tab and disable them if not needed. ONEdrive can be a culprit too. download revo uninstaller to delete useless windows apps and bloatware. Also WinAeroTweaker is a solid program that can turn off built in windows ads, windows telemetry, cortana, etc. With WinAero I put SFC/ SCANNOW and windows image repair on the context menu and my computer always runs a bit better when it finds corrupt files in windows and repairs them. You can generate a battery report and see whats going on with your battery. Select Search on the taskbar, type Command prompt, press and hold (or right-click) Command prompt, and then select Run as administrator > Yes. At the command prompt, type powercfg /batteryreport, then press Enter. The battery report will be an HTML file that's stored in a folder on your PC update armoury crate, windows, and the bios for the motherboard. Ive heard that there was a bug with the sleep mode and the bios update fixed it. But this depends heavily on your model. Search "Bios" in the reddit and see what version works best for you. I have a g15 2021 3070 and I downloaded a bios update from a post on here and my sleep issues were fixed. Your CPU uptime might be really high (check CPU under the performance tab in task manager) if you dont periodically restart your laptop. Under power option is control panel you can turn off "fast startup" and while it will take a bit longer to startup your laptop (its still really fast imo) your cpu wont be on when your laptop is off. With all these fixes you may have to restart your laptop a couple times for windows battery to report expected battery life that is longer than 4 hours. More on reddit.com

If you buy Asus products through best buy their warranty checker/inquiry/RMA request will refer you to Best Buy support to have your warranty claim/RMA taken care of. Fun fact Best Buy does not do RMAs/Warranty Claims and will just tell you that you need to contact Asus support.
I wasted multiple hours today trying to get the RMA started through Best Buy/Asus since they both kept referring me to each other. Only when I called and told the 2nd Asus Rep I talked to today that I couldn't even start the RMA cause of the best buy message did he manually start the RMA for me to get it taken care of.
Asus why are you giving your customers the runaround and not just taking care of them from the get go? $2400 for a RTX TUF 3090 and you make it a pain in the ass to get it taken care, fix your crap Asus

I am still reeling from this experience so I am going to present the facts and you can make your own judgement:
Bought a new ASUS laptop from Staples. Had a discount on it. Advertised as coming with 1 year warranty. Delivered today, May 30.
Went to this link to check warranty. It showed that my warranty expires on Nov 21 which is less than 6 months.
Started a chat with ASUS and asked to check warranty expiry date. They said 2026 Feb 19. Not sure how they got that date. I asked to verify this and they asked to provide a copy of the invoice which I did.
The chat agent then said discounted laptops get 90 days of warranty instead of 1 year. Not open-box, refurbished, used etc. Just a discount on the MSRP. She linked me to [these terms] (https://www.asus.com/support/images/upload/543139f2-0aec-4cd9-ab2b-36d2754d3e7d.pdf) which have nothing in them backing this statement. She said she is a supervisor and this is final.
(She immediately cut the chat after saying this so I couldn't take screenshots or save the chat for later)
What an absolute load of bullshit! Needless to say, I am returning this laptop no more ASUS devices for me.
