I have a code 99 on my Asus X99 A-II, most likely caused by a virus from using a Tzurk brand AIO LCD screen. (Same issue with my AMD pc as well). Both occurring on the same day. With no video output, I’m at a loss on how to rectify this problem. Additional details/specs can be provided. Any tips are greatly appreciated.

I've had startup issues the last two days, my computer wouldn't start the first few goes, then it would boot up and ask me to check bios settings, restored to default and it would work fine for the day.
The next day it just wouldn't start, I saw it was throwing up an 00 code, one of the suggested fixes was swapping round the RAM slots, I did so and it booted up into bios again - all settings at default and it started up and worked the whole day again.
Today it won't boot at all. I've tried swapping Ram slots again, replacing CMOS battery, can't get it to post. I'm way out of my depth, a friend said it was my CPU that had died, google searches tell me it could be my mobo or PSU as well. I need a little help, please!
I was running into a scrapped X99 board that seemed to be perfectly functional, even accepting a BIOS update, but getting stuck on post code B1 with multiple cpus. (Code looks a lot like 61, so people get confused.) I've seen a ton of these that have failed, including online.
Today, I am glad to report that I have found a solution.
There is a bad soldering joint (from factory) on one of the power components on the memory detection line, which i've confirmed from three different boards (this may depend on which factory it was manufactured from) that seems to have been produced at similar times.
When this component loses continuity, the board simply cannot detect any memory, or gets stuck on B1. It knows the stick is there, which is why it doesn't get stuck at post code 53, but moves on to b1.
I'll update with photos later!
Hey everyone! I have an ASUS X99-A II motherboard that’s acting weird, and I’m trying to figure out if it’s savable or completely dead. I’ve done quite a bit of troubleshooting and would appreciate any advice or second opinions.
Symptoms: • Board goes into a bootloop but stays on for a few seconds before restarting. • Q-Code shown is 00, no matter what components are installed. • No diagnostic LEDs light up, not even with no RAM or no CPU. • CPU doesn’t warm up at all — seems like it’s never initialized. • No bent pins in the socket, PSU is brand new, RAM is tested and good. • Bought the board second-hand from a flea market, so the history is unknown.
Interesting detail: I attempted a BIOS Flashback, but I messed up the USB setup. Still, the board once booted without the loop (but with no display), and after a restart, it went back to the usual behavior: bootloop + Q-Code 00.
That makes me think the BIOS is partially corrupted. If the chipset was totally dead, I don’t think it would’ve reacted at all to the flashback. Based on how things behave, the BIOS seems to be the core problem — not the power delivery or chipset.
Questions: 1. Has anyone had this happen on an X99 board? 2. Can a completely corrupted BIOS cause these exact symptoms? 3. Should I try a proper USB Flashback or go straight to EEPROM flashing or buying a pre-programmed BIOS chip?

Thanks in advance for any advice! (Bonus: I’m only 13 and passionate about PC hardware, so even basic explanations are really appreciated.)

The leds all work... It does display 00's shortly after power on then cycles and stops at 9q...
Things I did:
Reseat gfx card, try booting with and without..
Unplugging/replugging all ssd's and drives and booting..
It nevers posts and no beeping. No screen output either...
Dead mobo??
