So the problem I am having is the mobo comes with the drivers on thumb drive. I cant finish setting up windows without an internet connection and I can't connect to the internet because the drivers aren't installed via the thumb drive. I tried booting directly from the USB but that didn't work. Any ideas?

My Z790-E + 13900K are running well. I'm very happy with the motherboard overall.

I've been trying to get the drivers installed in Windows 11. The caveat is that I don't want to use Armory Crate. I installed it once and found it to be slow with many resident programs taking up memory and seemingly degrading performance. There are several threads on Reddit discussing the bloat that is Armory Crate.

So I re-installed Windows 11 fresh. I downloaded the available drivers directly from the Z790-E support page, including the chipset drivers and installed them. However, 7 devices remain as "Other devices".

On my previous install, Armory Crate cleared those up except the "RAID Controller".

Any clue how to get these drivers installed without Armory Crate?

I suppose I could install Armory Crate just to get the drivers, then attempt to uninstall it. But from my experience, it's never a clean uninstall. Especially if they have to provide a special "Armoury Crate Uninstall Tool"

Bonus question: Is there a way to set the LED patterns without Amory Crate as well?
