I am the current maintainer of Aurora-RGB (aka. Project-Aurora). It can control Razer RGB devices with or without synapse installed. It works with OpenRGB

In case you like game integrations, it can also do Chroma integration by only having “Razer Chroma SDK Service” running. More instructions on that:

Can this sync? I have Hyperx keyboard and mouse and steelseries mousepad. I was wondering if this would allow me to sync them all together More on reddit.com

Project Aurora support cancelled?

Aurora RGB Profile

Looks awesome! Did you set the mobo lighting separately or can you control it from iCue?

Solved. Aurora Unified Lighting Effects not working with iCUE.
I don’t know if this will help, but I just finally found an alternative for all that garbage RGB software, it’s on github, and it’s called “open RGB“ and its freeware!! Give it a try, I found it a lot better than ICue, or aura sync, or any other of that trash software. Plus, it’s a one time deal, you set up your RGB, and you don’t need to have any software running in the background on windows to make it happen. I have a asus Z390-a prime mobo, and a asus strix GeForce GTX 1080, corsair 16 GB vengeance rgb ram. Open RGB has worked with all of that, and you can actually check their compatibility list. LS350/LS430 Aurora RGB Light Strips | CORSAIR
August 29, 2024 - Connect the +5V ARGB connector (G) from the CORSAIR 3-pin RGB to +5V ARGB adapter cable (C) to the +5V ARGB header on your motherboard or lighting controller. Lighting is configured and managed by the device to which the +5V ARGB adapter cable is connected. In most situations this is typically the motherboard via a +5V ARGB header, which would require entering the BIOS to configure the lighting effects. Please refer to your motherboard manual for additional details. Can I use the LS Aurora RGB Light Strips with CORSAIR Lighting Controllers?

r/OpenRGB on Reddit: Guide: How to use OpenRGB with Aurora to add animations to your devices RGB (tested on HyperX Alloy Elite RGB)
September 30, 2020 -

Disclaimer: I have only tested this on a HyperX Alloy Elite RGB on Windows 10 but in theory it will work with many other devices. I am also not responsible if this doesn't work or adversely affects your hardware. I believe this also requires your device to work in 'direct mode' within OpenRGB.

This guide will help you customize your animations on your devices to a much greater extent than a lot of OEM software allows for.

Speaking from my personal experience, HyperX NGenuity has very little options available for effects and not many customisation options available so this is a definite upgrade for me (and it doesn't use a UWP app that I can't minimise to the taskbar...)

Aurora allows for a lot of customization on RGB devices and OpenRGB enables Aurora to support even more devices than it already does.

You will need:

OpenRGB: https://gitlab.com/CalcProgrammer1/OpenRGB/-/releases

Aurora: https://ci.appveyor.com/project/antonpup/aurora/builds/35262192/artifacts

I used the specific build above (I know they have to be a recent build for them to work with OpenRGB but be warned the above build is a bleeding edge build so may have more bugs than a standard release)

If you are reading this guide at a later date, there may be newer builds which you will find here:

https://github.com/antonpup/Aurora

Guide:

  1. Close all of your RGB software and services running on your PC for the devices you are trying to use. This process will differ depending on your device manufacturers.

  2. Ensure you have both of the above software downloaded and installed/accessible.

  3. Open "OpenRGB.exe" as administrator (at least for the first time you load it)

  4. Within OpenRGB, go to the "SDK Server" tab and press "Start Server"

  5. Open Aurora

  6. (Aurora may automatically connect to OpenRGB, in which case you can skip this step) Within Aurora, click the General Settings cog at the bottom left of the window.

  7. Click on 'Device Manager' tab within Aurora, scroll down to OpenRGB and click 'Start'. Aurora should now be connected to OpenRGB (you can confirm this by looking at your OpenRGB window which should now show Aurora as a connected client)

  8. (I'm not sure if this is required but I'm pretty sure it is) Click on 'Devices & Wrappers' within Aurora and your device should now appear under Preferred Keyboard or Preferred Mouse (depending on your device of course). Click on your device to set it as your preferred device.

  9. Now scroll all the way to the top of the left hand Aurora icons to click on the one shaped like a monitor.

  10. Begin customizing! I personally tried this out by going to 'Overlay Layers'. Disabling the Volume layer and making a new one. I changed the settings to be an 'Ambilight' profile and set my effect type to 'Average color'. But now there are lots of combinations and things you can do!

Feel free to ask if there's something I missed out or something doesn't work, I'll try my best to help.

It's also worth noting that OpenRGB can be setup to be run from command line to start a server straight away so it's less intrusive and that way it can also be started on boot up. If anyone needs to know how to do that, the OpenRGB documentation should help otherwise ask.
