I bought a used car for 6000. I put 1000 down, and got financed. My payments are 150 a month. My insurance is 128 a month for full coverage, which is required for a financed vehicle. I put about 35 in gas every week. So that's 418 a month, not including maintenance costs.

Preparing next year's budget and I've just gone through my monthly ownership averages for 2024. They are more than last year, as I had a transmission repair and needed new tires, but I was wondering what other people have as an average spend as an annual/monthly cost of running an old car they own outright?
$752 gas $973 insurance/registration/inspection $1504 maintenance and repairs
Monthly average $269 for 2024
Does this seem on par? I can't really cut back any of the categories as I think they're about as low as I can get for my make/model while still maintaining the car properly.
I'm currently paying $425/month all in to lease a new Subaru EV ($268/month monthly payment with 0 down+100/month insurance+57/month registration/license fees) and I feel like this is still too much, as I was paying this amount to rent a studio apartment back in 2014. This is not including maintenance which is free during the lease and charging/gas, which I get for free at work or mooch off the public electrical outlet at my apartment complex.
I drive 12,000 miles a year for reference also, which puts me at $0.43/mile.
