Depends on a goal :) My goal was not only pass exam, but also gain understanding. I had read/ watched whole SA knowledge path. (Before reading had experience only with EC2 and security groups, and also approx 6 months of Azure ) Overall.. material is there. It is enough to pass an exam.. but it is not exactly oriented to exam. It is just collection of training material for services which are in exam guide (some things written/filmed in 2023, some things in 2018-19.. you will able to see how aws design had changed in last 3-4 years :) ) There are some things which are on exam, but not included into this path. Took additional Data analytics course on skillbuilder to eliminate knowledge gaps. Spent 5 weeks on skillbuilder , passed exam 823/1000 Answer from Glum-Implement9857 on reddit.com

AWS All Builders Welcome
Hi everyone! I got the grant last year and applied to be a mentor this year so I wanted to offer a little insight. I'm still waiting to hear anything but last year, there was no communication until I got the email saying I got the grant, though I did get an email saying that applications were under review, and that was at the end of September, but nothing saying they got my application (I assume by the email saying they were reviewing all applications, they implied that they got my application cause how else would they contact me?). That being said, I basically had to remind them to even open the grant last year as well as send out the notification emails (when the date that they were supposed to be sent out came and went is when I contacted them and they sent them out a few hours later. I like to joke that I basically ran the whole grant last year). That's also part of the reason that it wasn't announced until early/mid October, as they didn't even open the grant until after early August, which is when the grant closed this year. So judging this years timeline off of last years isn't the best way to measure it. Idk what the timelines for previous years are (before 2023), but since they were able to remember to open the grant this year without me having to remind them, I think they're more on the ball than last year. There is a slack channel for previous grantees, which is a great resource that you can use for almost anything, idk if there's a time limit on how long you can be in the slack channel for (maybe I'll ask and update you). It is to the point where the people who applied to be mentors are joking that they got the email, and getting everyone's hopes up/down that the emails have been sent out. They have not, as they are 2 separate emails for the mentees and mentors, you guys aren't the only ones still waiting! So yes, I know that it's hard to wait and it really does suck that their communication isn't the best. They do send out a survey a few months after the conference to get your feedback on your experience as a grantee and I would suggest that you mention the lack of communication during the application process. I hope I was able to explain a few things and ease some worries. I'm sure it will be announced soon! I vaguely remember the end screen after the application saying that it will be announced in early September (which imo is before the date hits double digits but whatever (I say writing this on Sept. 10th)) so you're not wrong in thinking that its happening soon. I hope everyone here gets the grant (and me too, fingers crossed). Come back here and update us about your status, we should all arrange a time to meet when we're there! If you have any questions, please reach out and I'll do my best to answer them. I'm gonna write a comment under this one that has some tips and tricks that I would suggest for the conference, so if you're seeing this right after I posted it, wait a little bit and come back to check it out. If a mod or someone could pin this comment so that others can see it more easily, I'd greatly appreciate it! More on reddit.com

Is AWS Skillbuilder Really That Bad?

So finally looking at AWS Skillbuilder and there's a lot there. There have been a bunch of comments about how ineffective it is for preparation, so I'm wondering if I'm seeing some recent updates or something.
For example, I'm looking at the Solutions Architect Knowledge Path and there is 52 hours of training. Is the training really so bad that you could do that and still be nowhere near ready for the exam?
The Industry Quests (simulation where you use AWS skills to deliver a solution) and the Digital Badges also look interesting. Perhaps this is just useful for skill development.
