r/aws on Reddit: Pricing 5TB of unused EBS volume
August 31, 2020 -

I need to price 5TB of EBS volume ready to go in the case of a disaster recovery process.

My initial calculation here https://calculator.aws/#/estimate?id=5cdc75304fbad118652cddfa457935c7124fcb20 based on 60 hours of annual use seems wrong since I know snapshot costs are at least 0.05 per GB per month, so it should be at least 256USD a month + this earlier estimate?

Anything else I am missing? Tbh the needed 5TB volume will probably in reality have a LOT less on it, come actual usage when the stopped instance is started.
