I am interviewing for a position of an principal solution architect focusing on a industry vertical. I know very well this industry vertical , worked on the customer side of it, created and launched successfully many digital and AI projects that brought significant value to the companies. My experience is quite unique. However, I always relied on internal and aws architects to help us build the cloud architecture, I am not a aws cloud expert. My role was to ensure that what they were doing filled our requirements. Hence, I was more on the te technical product management side. Any chance to successfully pass these interviews? The job description is quite vague on the requirements…

You are a PM, so there is zero chance. AWS Principal Architects require deep TECHNICAL know-how. Al projects significant value My role was to ensure that what they were doing filled our requirements. Principal Architect here. It’s more than just a technical interview. Read any material the recruiter gave you. Understand our leadership principles and how they may have applied to what you have historically done. Just be honest about what you know or don’t know and focus on the areas you know. Tech knowledge is not the difficult part. You need to be great in many areas. A Principal is a leader. Someone that has and can influence. Someone that can scale ideas. There is much more of course, but definitely read about Principals at AWS and what it takes to be one (also known as L7). Best of luck on your interview experience, it is unique! If you don’t make it, don’t be discouraged, learn from it and make a new plan, which could involve a different role to target.

Its not a job. Its a Certification that tells that you can do this stuff on AWS. You still have to be some kind of software engineer or infrastructure guy. Just doing the cert wont land you a job. More on reddit.com
