CSP can sell the entire services portfolio available through CSP. There are no certification requirements to sell any of the services.

DPOR allows partners to: Support customers’ cloud services, helping to deliver strong business outcomes and high ongoing services levels for the customer.Qualify for MPN cloud competencies that will help you grow your business and unlock benefits, such as unlimited cloud support, sales, and technical training to develop your expertise, internal software use rights, and other special offers.Gain insight into your customers’ cloud consumption and usage, allowing you to monitor and proactively engage with your customers, implement solutions, and help them reach their desired business outcome. This insight can also be leveraged for cross-sell/upsell opportunities and allows partners to proactively engage customers at risk for non-renewal.

so its basically sell and support.

Can you describe what your CSP does and what your expectations are of your CSP?
It’s your MSP for the Cloud, so it can be partial help with just billing and support or it can be full blown where they manage everything. It depends on the contract. Things get dicey with a lot of turnover in a company or where people lose track of the contracts and start moving in directions not initially agreed upon. Personally, I don’t care for them unless you NEED the full blown support QUICKLY. They can offer some better discounts on things, but I often find it’s not worth it to receive that discount because of the amount of time that is needed to manage the relationship from educated individuals. Just spend the money on an engineer or architect instead of throwing it at a CSP black hole. You’ll be able to document things in house, keep it for the life of your company, and you’ll develop an invested individual/team that’s invested into just your company. You’ll end up needing to do the work either way, so just get it done in house so you’re not left in precarious situations by a vendor. More on reddit.com

Hosting Customers in Azure under CSP Account

I don't host in Azure but I believe each customer must have their own tenant as per M$ terms. You can still control and handle all the billing through CSP.

I am curious to get some real world feedback on what services your CSP actually provides for you as part of the agreement. Is it simply billing, support, and licensing? Are they very proactive in the environment and making recommendations on resources and cost savings? What has been your experience?

Work for a company that does both PS and CSP. CSP side - Some based off Tier of service agreement Billing management and typicaly reservations and cost assistance Monitor workloads/services alert if there is a problem Triage problems as a first line with the knowlegae and assisitnace of the client ("Hey the domain controller is down, is anything going on? do you want to get on a call? ) or in situations where its above our level we will create MS support tickets on behalf of or at the behest of the client("all the loadbalancers in North central canada region are down, we have put in a ticket and will keep you updated"). Its break fix type work. The CSP team will not help you design a new appliaction, implement new services. That falls undwer professional services and we would have projects and statements of work for that. We have no problem having those conversations and can pull resources to discuss such things in a very detailed light as well. The above is what i consider primary infrastructure management. In bordeline areas like fabirc/bI/AI/ML the sla gets very specific because that can mushroom out in crazy ways. i.e. we can help you manage your fabric, we can help you cost op it, but if you need a report on the amount of widgets coming out to of the wizbang factory and a ML that can forcast for you... thats a project. I find alot if vaiance in the csp industry as a whole. there are shops out there that have very little azure experieince and are just trying to get the billing cost. If your infrasturcture has little growth and need to adapt, these can be worth it. Some just advertize that they are CSP, but you only find out later it is CSP for 0365 and not compute. Some can support both but have limitations on the just how many MS support tickets they can put in and as a consequence, infrastucutre support can be "best guess and hope" based on the techs that are employed. I find it a little bit of a wild west landscape.
