August 17, 2023 -

I have a hard time about the subject backup phone.

Given:

I noticed that my phone is almost full like 88% of 100 There are photos, videos, data etc

I bought google one 2tb. But this backups data of the phone to the Google cloud/ storage.

Question:

I see now that the data is also still on the phone so it doesn't become less. I can copy or move files from the phone to a Nas or external drive.

But will Google one still keep it or it sees it's gone from my phone and auto delete it there too?

Also if I move files will the date of the files change and do I keep the Google photos date, time year order?

I want to free up my phone but I dont wanna lose datetime and or files. I can make a folder like:

Data/backup/my phone And paste all in it using apps or tools but it just doesn't seem like a professional decent solution...

How you guys do this? Or you all struggling with this too?

Also I don't see my self watching old photos back on the PC. On the phone I would do it like just chill on the couch and browse some photos to see memories back I love it. But if I move data off, I would not see these photos anymore..

Or is it time to buy a phone with more storage?

December 13, 2023 -

My Android phone needs to be backed up to my Google Workspace (Google Drive). According to everything I've read online, this backup process requires Google One, which only works with gmail accounts? Are you serious? I find this absurd. Can anyone confirm this?

What are the steps to back up my Android phone using my Google Drive account? Also, please confirm that SMS AND MMS are backed up? I need to restore the Samsung phone on a Google Pixel. I am switching from a Samsung Zflip 5 to a Google Pixel 8.
