I've been wearing my champion joggers for the past few months. I love em. Also, I bought russell sweatpants from Amazon for the gym, much more baggy, very comfortable, both reasonable prices, love. Answer from ihavetotinkle on reddit.com

r/PetiteFashionAdvice on Reddit: Sweatpants that are still baggy but not completely huge/super long? + Good petite length wide leg sweatpants?
January 17, 2025 -

I'm looking for sweatpant recommendations! My inseam is roughly... Crotch to top of ankle bone, it's about 23", and to the floor about 26"
I don't like the really slim/fitted sweatpants, I like baggy sweatpants, so I don't mind like, somewhat bunched up/gathered fabric at the ankle as long as the cuff is good enough to prevent them from slipping down/getting walked on. Though this question also includes the wide leg/sweatpants with no bottom cuff so that definitelyyy needs to be in a petite/short inseam - I don't want like 4" of fabric dragging on the floor. 😂

I don't really like the super thick/stiff sweatpants, but of course I like having some warm sweatpants but I also don't mind thin sweatpants too! I like sweatpants that bunch up a bit but not massively. I like oversized but I want a few that are like, not massively oversized but still sorta baggy too, I don't like slim fit sweatpants and again, for the wide leg/straight leg sweatpants of course I'll need the short inseam for those.

I'm almost always cold, I live in Canada so like... I live in sweatpants. No such thing as too many 😂😂😂 okay maybe there is but I recently went through all my clothes and I'm throwing out and giving away a ton, I realized how many sweatpants I own that I just don't like/aren't comfy so getting rid of and going to replace a fewwww pairs of them.

The rest of this is just me rambling on about various pairs of sweatpants I've had/have/tried, both ones I like and ones I don't! I'll bold the names and at the end of my rambling paragraph if I liked or didn't like them so they stick out if you're just here to recommend sweatpants :)
So you can stop reading here if you just are here to suggest sweatpants, though... If you're also looking for sweatpants, might be sorta informative to read? 🤷🏻‍♀️ and there is a few random questions mixed in - mostly about the hollister ones - to my rambling but... ahaha.

Anyway,

I have a pair of OFFLINE By Aerie OTT Fleece Jogger sweatpants and they're SO comfy, they're not super thick but I love them, The legs are baggy but not absolutely massive. But if I pulled them up as high as they'd go... They almost go over my chest, like a romper lol. I'm wondering if I ordered those a size down, would the rise or whatever? be slightly shorter without the legs losing much of their oversized fit. It's annoying though cause they have one pocket on the butt and if you put anything in it, they slowly get pulled down and you have so much excess fabric... but they're so comfy and that might be because they're a bit big on me and maybe that could be solved if I actually tied the waistband thing. However they hold up in the wash good luckily. They don't start piling/getting rough super easily which is great! I think I might try a pair a size down. Definitely recommend them if you don't mind the super high rise or have a longer torso maybe, just go a size down I think that would help, that's what I'm going to try. I have a few other pairs of sweatpants from there and I like them too, and most of their rises aren't as ridiculous as this pair but... Aerie/American Eagle makes nice sweatpants, often has sales. So def worth it. Love Aerie/AE sweatpants.

Speaking of piling... PINK brand sweatpants, SUPER oversized and massive(Almost too massive - wouldn't wear them out now) Comfy... until they get worn and washed maybe, two-three times. Then they get SO rough, and I mean entirely covered in rough piling, not just a little bit. I just got rid of like... 8 pairs because I bought a few pairs a few years back. Loved the fit and they were okay after the first wash,, so I quickly made another order... Washed the ones I bought originally a few times. They got so rough. So disappointing for $80 sweatpants. They've just been sat in my dresser for years because I was so upset and like "Well... I'll wear them when I need to wear something I don't care about ruining...", but I finally got rid of them! Got rid of the overly rough ones, and I'm giving the three pairs I haven't worn to a friend, hope they last better for her. I'd never buy a pair of sweatpants from PINK again. Bad quality. Don't like.

Garage Easy Joggers, and Garage UltraFleece Boyfriend Sweatpants Baggy, high rise but not like the Aerie ones, Not super long and they're very comfy. Seem to hold up in the wash good too!! They're thick and warm but not stiff and have a lot of nice colours - I love their shades of pink. They do run a little big so you could size down if you want, or stick to true to size if you want them more baggy. Worth full price but they go on sale pretty frequently from what I see. I managed to get a pair for $15 on sale over a year ago, but I notice they're mostly around $30 when on sale now. Worth it! Like.

Roots I ordered a pair yearsss ago but I sized up so they're... massive lol like the cuff slips over my heel - so they are long too and I got them in a really light colour so the bottoms get kinda gross quick though they do wash well. So I ended up buying another pair a size down, in black, and they fit good but... They got pretty rough pretty fast. So I think the quality is going downhill? So for the price, disappointing. Likely giving away my oversized pair and going to wear the other pair until they're unwearable. Debating on giving them one last chance and buying maybe a lighter colour like grey again in my right size and see how those hold up... But not sure. Not sure.

Aritzia I have a pair and just... Barely reach for them, they're thick and comfy but not stiff, I got the regular inseam and they bunch a bit but again I like that! and the cuff prevents them from slipping past your heels so that's a good thing. I'd probably recommend them? I'm going to make an effort to wear them more. Too early to judge.

Champion very thick and like, stiff? They're long but because they're so stiff the way they bunch just looks... weird, like the way they bend because of how thick/stiff the outside is? Idk. I'm probably going to give them away. They are warm but not very comfortable to me. Also the bottom slips over heel easily. Don't like.

Adidas The ones I got are pretty oversized, the fabric is nice but they have like a seam/piping down the front of the legs and it makes them like... sit? kinda weird when you're wearing them? Like almost like a balloon? idk how to explain it. Leaning towards don't like.

I ordered some sweatpants off Hollister, the Hollister Feel Good Fleece Adjustable Rise Dad Joggers I haven't gotten them yet but I saw that some of them have a short inseam - I went with regular(Only option because I ordered a 2-pack, and Regular said 28" inseam) because I do like the slight bunching/extra fabric, though I'm wondering if anyone has tried them in a short inseam and if they're still like... slightly baggy? Or would going for a short inseam completely get rid of any bunching? I'm wondering if I size up, and go with a short inseam if that would give enough excess fabric but not be long... idk... Just ordered, don't have yet.
I also got a pair of wide leg sweatpants from them in short so hoping those fit good. However I've never tried wide leg sweatpants in a short inseam from anywhere else either so... A few more suggestions so I can get a couple more pairs won't hurt.

Thank you!!

24 Best Sweatpants for Women in 2026, Curated by Style Pros | Glamour
6 days ago - Wide-leg sweatpants are an of-the-moment spin on the sporty staple. Similar to its denim counterparts, the silhouette du jour offers a relaxed fit with fashion-forward flair. Styling these baggy bottoms requires minimal effort—just reach for a white tank or a fitted cardigan on lazy days—but to better balance proportions, opt for athletic sneakers, a textured top, and a longline jacket for polish that feels intentional, not like an afterthought.

Style Experts Reveal The Cozy Sweatpants They Keep Reaching For All Winter
2 weeks ago - If you do want to size up, expect the pants to be a bit baggier, but not too loose. The only downside to these sweats is that the drawstring is on the inside of the waistband instead of the outside, which can make it harder to tie and a little uncomfortable against the skin. That said, we love that you can roll the waistband down to bring the tie outside. ... These sweatpants are lightweight enough to wear in the summer, but cozy and thick enough to be your go-to in the winter thanks to the super soft cotton and elastane blend.
