I shop there a lot, and here's my takeaway :

Shirts - Their dress shirts are really good and aren't just plain. They have some interesting prints and understated but fun dress shirts. If you don't want that, they have good plain and standard options too. I get the Grant fit, which is their slim fit. The Camden fits like a bag for me. This is their relaxed fit.

Chinos - Emerson (straight), Aiden (slim), Fulton (Skinny). I swear by the Fultons. They are my go to chinos and they get better with washes. I believe they have "upgraded" their Fulton fits for this season. I'm not sure what has changed.

Denim - Their BR traveller denim line is highly vaunted, but I found it to be wanting. I purchased it at a 40% discount (These never go on discount) and was still unsatisfied. The fit was very good, but the quality seemed under par for what I was paying (~$70)

Outerwear - They had a tan overcoat which I liked but the fit wasn't right. They generally have pretty flattering cuts. YMMV.

Shoes/Tshirts/Suiting/Accessories - Never purchased.

Yes. Better fabrics at BR, at the very least. Typically more complicated styling, where Gap is mostly staples along the jeans/khakis/oxford. The differences are akin to Old Navy and Gap - better fabric, somewhat better construction, more mature styling, better cuts.

I still often find them a bit generic and underwhelming, though. At full price they're comparable to JCrew but I think JCrew is typically a higher quality. But who buys BR at full price when they're 30% off every other hour?
