I recently got a stupid expensive chair in my search for something that will actually hold up, since I work from home and am in this chair 12-16 hours a day every day. I consider it a business expense on my end personally.

Is there a Design Within Reach near you? You want to look at companies like Herman Miller, Steel case, and Humanscale. These are all relatively expensive but, at least with HM chairs, can be sized for different body types, are designed to be extremely comfortable and long lasting, and can be mostly optioned with headrests.
As far as I know, only DWR and other high end furniture places would carry them for you to try out, all in one location.
