Hello,
We are contemplating doing an entire house using IKEA ceiling and wall lighting fixtures. Has anyone ever done this? Does brand even matter when it comes to lighting in the home?

IMO the quality is fine, not great but good enough. Going up in quality will cost you a lot more than you think it will. For comparison I was really underwhelmed with the quality of the Kichler fixture I bought. Its replacement was equally poorly built. If you like the look of the IKEA stuff, go for it. OTOH if you're doing ceiling lighting you may want to think about the little LED pancake things that are all the rage these days. Most of the time light fixtures are about aesthetics more than ‘quality’, though for bathrooms, you want to get lights made for bathrooms generally. My guest room, office, main bath, and dining room all have ikea fixtures- the 3 cord hemma in the dining room is almost 10 years old and just fine (the other shades have been in use for about 8 years and been through a move unscathed)

Hi al, I need to attach this ikea ceiling lamp to the bathroom ceiling. I'm in the Netherlands and just moved into a new (nieuwbouw) building. Both the ceiling and the lamp are equiped with a terminal block (see pics)- what do you suggest i do? Remove the block from the lamp - with short wires, or remove the ceiling cap + block on that end? thanks!
