Budget Bathroom Remodel
Before / during / after DIY bathroom on a budget

Hi all! My boyfriend and I have two bathrooms that look like this. I’m comfortable painting the walls myself, and I’m considering a very light blue (right now they are a gray purple).
The house is from the very early 2000s, and I don’t believe this bathrooms have been updated since then.
I have only rented in the past, so I’m really struggling with what to do about the floors, cabinets, and sink.
The lighting is not great in this photo, but the sink is kind of an off yellowish white.
If my budget is say a couple thousand dollars, what would you all recommend? E.g. Re-staining or completely replacing the cabinets?
I would also have nowhere to begin on the floors.
For reference, I’m a fan of things that are on the vintage/Victorian side. My boyfriend owns this house so the issue is more so budget than what we’re able to do.
Thank you so much in advance!
Hey all! We’re bringing in some contractors for estimates this week, looking for tips and tricks to hopefully keep our budget under $10k for our full bath remodel. It’s all original from the 50’s, tile is falling apart. I’ve heard keeping the footprint is a must for keeping it in budget, any other tips? Thanks in advance!
Update: thanks all so much for those with helpful advice! More context: lots of folks are saying DIY project but I’m partially disabled and it’s our only bathroom in the entire house. I can just hear my doc yelling at me haha - all that really needs fixing is to replace the tile, the tub and tub fixtures. Will look into potentially hiring some handy folks to conquer these tasks?
