I can't speak to the quality of the Bauer.....but I can say I owned the cheaper one about 5 years back. Used it maybe a dozen times over the course of a year or so. Small projects, short run times.....then one day it just started rattling and the disk sander part started bouncing around and separated from the shaft. Took that off, tried to use it as just the belt sander for a few more times, but it never really ran right again. I've had lots of decent HF purchases, but I would not recommend that Central Machinery one. Bought a WEN brand equivalent (was <$85 back then, around $150 on amazon now) and it's been way better all around Answer from Kavik_79 on reddit.com

As you mentioned the belt sander version is a plus. I didn't need that option since I have a 6×80 edge sander. ... The Wen appears to be the cheapest spindle sander around and has a pretty good review. I have one based on the review and it has worked just fine. I would certainly consider it over any from HF. HF tools in my opinion have been made to the most minimum standards. Although I have heard good things about their new Bauer and Hercules brands, only time will tell how well they hold up.

I have a ton of Bauer tools. Maybe not a ton but quite a few so Bauer (and Wen, cause I'm cheap like that) has become. My goto for power tools with few exceptions.
I am interested in their belt/disc combo sander and I can't seem to find any reviews (other than HF) or videos.
Does anyone have one of these?

The 80 grit disc pad does leave grooves on an edge sand, however the use of a higher grit finishing disc easily takes these away with only a light hand sand required for a smooth finish. To sum up, the Baumr sander combo is a great little machine, I’ll give it an 8 out of 10, only because it does not come with a horizontal table at the end of the belt for doing inside curves.
