Hi, trying to switch to Linux after more than 30 years in the MS ecosystem. And where I consider myself an above average informed pc user, Linux has me stumped. For now.
I have put off using Linux for years, because for work I am heavily invested in the Adobe suite (Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects etc), but I switched that part of my life over to a Macbook Pro, so now my pc will essentially used primarily for gaming. Hence: Bazzite.
So I got it installed and updated, and wanted to install my first Steam game, but I have no clue where.
Do I go with the default, which is /var/home? Is that the directory to install programs to?
Or can I diversify, like I did in Windows, where I had a separate drive for all my games?
For now I am using a dual boot to get my feet wet, so currently I just have the drive I installed Bazzite on to install programs on.
So: default directory/folder or create your own structure. And, if so, HOW to create such a structure?
Or just wing it and go for the defaults until I understand the OS?
